First unveiled in November 2024, the Maruti Suzuki e Vitara made its public debut in India at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025. The SUV is expected to be launched in March 2025, while dealer-level bookings for the e-SUV have already been started. In fact, Maruti Suzuki has started dispatching its first EV to dealerships.
The new Maruti Vitara EV is most likely to be sold through NEXA premium dealership network. The SUV showcased at the 2025 Auto Expo was finished in NEXA Blue colour. Not just this, the e Vitara will come with five monotone and four dual-tone colour options.
Maruti Suzuki is preparing to setup good number of charging stations; a fast charger at intervals of 10kms in the top 100 cities. The company also aims to provide improved after-sales services through a leasing program and offering multiple finance options. The OEM plans to offer after sales service across 1,000 cities. It will be produced at Suzuki's Gujarat based production plant, which will serve both domestic and export markets.
The Indo-Japanese brand also plans to offer 'Service on Wheels' program to its customers. Maruti will setup over 300 mobile units to solve technical problems and breakdowns of e Vitara in areas where after-sales support is not available.
The new electric SUV is built on the new Born-electric HEARTECT-e platform, which is co-developed with Toyota. The e Vitara will be the first Maruti Suzuki model to feature Level 2 ADAS suite with features like adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, blind spot monitoring and others. For safety and security, the SUV gets seven airbags, tyre pressure monitoring system, electronic parking brake, all-disc brakes and other.
The Maruti Suzuki e Vitara will be offered with two battery pack options - 49kWh and 61kWh - with a front-axle-mounted electric motor. While the former offer offers 144bhp, the 61kWh battery pack with an electric motor delivers 174bhp. The dual motor AWD setup will come as an optional with the larger battery pack. MSIL has confirmed that the Vitara electric will offer a range of over 500km in a single charge.
