Internally codenamed SP3, the next-gen Kia Seltos is reportedly to be introduced in January 2026. The new model will come with a hybrid engine for the first time and an in-house developed e-AWD system. Kia is testing both standard and X-Line versions of the Seltos, and a latest spy images reveal its possible design.
The current Kia Seltos and X-Line appears largely identical, except for the paint job and minimal design and interior changes. However, the next-gen Seltos X-Line will come with significant changes in terms of looks. It will be more rugged and sporty than the regular model.
The X-Line comes with a unique lower bumper with differently styled air dams. It has a more pronounced front bumper with unique styling element, and differently styled alloy wheels.
The spy images reveal a sportier and bigger Tiger Nose grille, which seems inspired by Sportage. It also gets uniquely styled LED daytime running lights signature, and LED headlamp unit. The LED fog lights are placed on the lower bumper.
The latest spy images also reveal that the next-gen Kia Seltos will be bigger than the outgoing model. It will carry a more masculine and boxy design with upright front fascia, a flat roof, striking fenders and large greenhouse. The SUV will get new rear with all-new tailgate and lower bumper, and taller LED tail-lights that seems inspired by the Kia EV5.
If reports are to be believed, the International-spec model is packed with a 1.6-litre, 4-cylinder, turbocharged petrol engine. Moreover, the SUV will have a new hybrid powertrain that is available in global-spec Hyundai Kona hybrid and Kia Niro. It will also receive an e-AWD system, which has a rear-mounted electric motor to provide all-weather traction.
The India-spec Seltos will also receive a hybrid powertrain, which is likely to be based on the existing 1.5-litre, NA petrol engine. Adding to it, the SUV will also be offered with the existing 1.5L diesel and 1.5L turbo petrol engine.
