One of the popular Hyundai SUVs, the Creta, is going to enter a new generation avatar. The SUV has been the best seller in India since 2020. It is known for its comfortable interior, smooth drive, and the availability of advanced tech features. In 2024, Hyundai launched the facelift version with enhanced design features, and the electric version is now also available on sale since January 2025. The constant efforts from the brand and immense love from the customers are the clear answers to why Hyundai Creta is so successful in the market.
Speculations suggest the new-gen Creta, codenamed SX3, could see big changes in its powertrain. The brand is most likely to offer a hybrid engine with the launch of the third-gen Hyundai Creta.
Get more details!
With every new generational model, we have been witnessing fresh design details on the Creta. Although the 2024 Creta facelift received the modern design language, it is hard to tell if the new-gen model will see any difference on the design part. However, we cannot deny the fact that being in the newest generation form, the SUV could receive some exterior updates. It is said that new Creta could get design inspiration from global models such as Palisade and Santa Fe.
As stated before, the Hyundai Creta is known for its sophisticated and comfortable interior. With the launch of next-gen Creta, the brand is expected to redesign the interior to make it more competitive in the segment.
As for features, the third-gen Creta could receive an extended list of features, modern technology, and boosted safety suit. Some of the features might be borrowed from the current model, including dual screen setup, panoramic sunroof, multi-function steering wheel, ventilated seats, and more.
One of the biggest changes would be under the hood. The current-generation model offers 1.5-litre naturally-aspirated petrol, a 1.5-litre direct-injection turbo petrol and a 1.5-litre turbo diesel. These engine units are paired to both manual and automatic transmissions. For the next-gen Hyundai Creta, the brand is likely to offer a hybrid engine, making it the brand's first hybrid offering in India. It could use a 1.5-litre petrol engine to pair the electric motor for better fuel efficiency.
The third-gen Creta will be produced at Hyundai's plant in Tamil Nadu, India. This factory manufactures the top Hyundai cars, including Creta. This plant will meet the higher demand for the new Creta.
Recent media reports claim that the third-gen Creta will launch in India in 2027. It is currently under development and internally codenamed SX3. Stay tuned for more details!
