Mahindra Bolero, one of India’s most trusted and rugged SUVs, is getting a fresh new look. The next-generation Bolero has been seen testing again, and this time we get a good look at its side design. Mahindra is giving the SUV a more premium and stylish appearance, but it will still stay under 4 metres in length to enjoy lower taxes and better pricing.
Let’s get more insights!
The side view of the new Bolero shows big changes. It now looks more straight and clean compared to the older Bolero Neo. The window line is flat and lines up neatly with the bonnet and rear glass, giving it a boxy and strong look — similar to the Land Rover Defender 110.
The roof is also flat, adding to its bold shape. Other changes include big square wheel arches, neat door shut lines, and new door handles that may pop out like those on the Mahindra XUV700. The wheels are larger too, possibly 17 or 18 inches, which adds to its SUV presence.
At the front, the SUV now has round headlights for the first time on a Bolero, along with a wide grille featuring vertical slats and the Mahindra Twin Peaks logo in the middle. The design still looks strong and muscular, like the Bolero has always been.
To keep the SUV under 4 metres, Mahindra has trimmed the front and rear bumpers. This helps with pricing but doesn’t take away from the vehicle’s tough road presence.
The new Bolero may be built on a monocoque platform, which is different from the current ladder-frame setup. This could make the ride more comfortable, especially if it also gets independent suspension on all four wheels.
It is likely to be powered by the same 1.5-litre mHawk100 diesel engine that we see in the Bolero Neo. This engine gives 100 bhp and 260 Nm of torque and may be offered with both manual and automatic gearboxes.
The Bolero has been a reliable vehicle for both rural and urban buyers for many years. With this new model, Mahindra is trying to make it more stylish and comfortable while keeping its rugged feel. It could attract both old fans and new buyers looking for a strong yet modern SUV.
Mahindra has not given an official launch date yet, but with more test vehicles being spotted, the launch could happen by late 2025. The new Bolero is expected to offer a great mix of toughness, style, and value for money.
