The Harrier EV will challenge the Mahindra XEV 9e. It will offer an estimated range of over 500km on a full charge. The EV will come with V2L and V2V charging, along with AWD system. It will be built on Tata's new electric platform supporting FWD, RWD and AWD systems.
Tata Motors has confirmed the launch of the Harrier EV and Sierra (ICE) SUVs for 2025. While the former will arrive by March to challenge the upcoming Mahindra XEV 9e, the latter won’t have any direct rival in India but will take on the Mahindra XUV700 in terms of pricing. Both these SUVs are likely to make their public debut at the Bharat Mobility Show in January 2025. Let’s take a look at the key details of the upcoming Tata Harrier EV.
The exact specifications of the Harrier EV are still under wraps. However, the EV is likely to be offered with a 60kWh battery pack and a dual electric motor setup. Its range is expected to be over 500km on a full charge. The carmaker has already confirmed that its upcoming high-spec EVs will support both V2L (vehicle-to-load) and V2V (vehicle-to-vehicle) charging. The Tata Harrier EV will come with an AWD (all-wheel drive) system.

Similar to the Curvv EV, the electric Harrier will be designed on the Acti-ev (Advanced Connected Tech Intelligent Electric Vehicle) platform. It’s a pure electric architecture supporting all three drivetrain systems – FWD, RWD, and AWD. The Acti.ev platform-based EVs will be capable of delivering a range of up to 600km and will be compatible with 11kW AC and DC fast charging of up to 150kW.
The design of the production-ready Tata Harrier EV will be slightly different from its ICE version, featuring a closed-off grille, a coupe-like roofline, and revised front and rear bumpers. The interior layout will also share a strong resemblance with its ICE version. The electric SUV will come with a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, wireless phone charging, a digital instrument cluster, an electronic parking brake with auto hold, a 360-degree surround camera with a blind-spot monitoring system, Level 2 ADAS tech, and a panoramic sunroof.
The Tata Harrier EV will be the flagship electric offering from the indigenous automaker. Its entry-level variant is estimated to be priced around Rs 30 lakh.
