New Tata Sierra EV Details Revealed; Dual-Motor AWD Confirmed

Tata Sierra EV confirmed with dual-motor AWD setup Expected range of over 500 km on full charge Launch scheduled for June 30 in India

Tata Motors is slowly revealing more details about the upcoming Sierra EV, and the latest teaser confirms one of its biggest highlights. The electric SUV will come with a dual-motor all-wheel-drive (AWD) setup, making it more powerful and capable than a standard front-wheel-drive EV.

The launch is set for June 30, and Tata is expected to share full details, including battery, range, and pricing on the same day.

Dual-Motor AWD Confirmed

The new teaser clearly shows a “QWD Dual Motor” badge, confirming that the Sierra EV will get an AWD setup with two electric motors.

In the video, the SUV is seen driving through sand, which hints at better grip and off-road ability. This setup should help the Sierra EV handle rough roads and different driving conditions more confidently.

Classic Sierra Look, Now in EV Form

The Sierra EV keeps its boxy and upright design, but with a modern electric twist.

At the rear, it gets a full-width LED light bar, clean tailgate design, roof spoiler, blacked-out rear glass, and Sierra.ev badging. The overall look is simple but premium.

It also gets aero-style dual-tone alloy wheels, thick body cladding, and squared wheel arches, giving it a strong SUV stance.

Front Design and Styling

Earlier teasers showed the front design, which includes a full-width LED DRL, slim headlamps placed lower on the bumper, and a closed grille since it’s an EV.

The clamshell bonnet has been carried over from the original Sierra design, keeping a link to its legacy.

Battery and Range Expectations

Tata Motors has not shared official battery details yet. But reports suggest the Sierra EV could use 65 kWh and 75 kWh battery packs, similar to the Harrier EV.

The expected driving range is over 500 km on a full charge, which should make it suitable for long drives as well.

It may also support fast charging and bi-directional charging, which allows the car to send power back to devices or even other EVs.

Expected Features Inside

The cabin is expected to be similar to the upcoming Sierra ICE version but with EV updates.

It may include a triple-screen setup, JBL sound system with Dolby Atmos, panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control, head-up display, connected car features, powered tailgate, electric parking brake, and Level 2 ADAS.

Where It Will Sit in the Lineup

Once launched, the Sierra EV will be placed above Tata’s entry-level EVs but below the Harrier EV.

It will compete with cars like the Hyundai Creta Electric, Mahindra BE 6, Maruti Suzuki e Vitara, MG ZS EV, Kia Carens Clavis EV, and Toyota Urban Cruiser EV.
