Compact SUVs have always been popular in India because they are practical and affordable. Now, with electric cars becoming more common, this segment is growing fast. Brands like Kia, Mahindra and Hyundai are preparing upcoming compact electric cars in India that offer style, modern features and eco-friendly driving at a reasonable price.
Here are three upcoming compact electric SUVs launching soon in India:
Kia is preparing to roll out the Syros EV, which will sit below the EV6 in the company’s lineup. The SUV will carry a stylish design inspired by Kia’s global models, but with India-friendly proportions and pricing.
Expected highlights include a 350–370 km driving range, quick-charging capabilities and a spacious interior. The Syros EV could also feature connected car technology, wireless smartphone integration and advanced safety features. Its launch in India is likely in early 2026, with prices starting around Rs 15 lakh.

Mahindra will also join the race with the XUV 3XO EV, an electric version of the recently launched XUV 3XO. Positioned below the XUV400, this SUV will be among the most affordable upcoming compact electric SUVs in India.
The XUV 3XO EV will feature premium equipment like a panoramic sunroof, digital instrument cluster, 12.3-inch touchscreen, Level 2 ADAS and Harman Kardon sound system. It is expected to use a 35 kWh battery with a driving range of around 400 km on a single charge. Mahindra is likely to launch it in early 2026.
Hyundai is preparing to launch the Inster EV, a small SUV with futuristic styling and clever packaging. Designed for city-friendly use, the Inster will be Hyundai’s answer to the Tata Punch EV.
Expected to come with two battery pack options (42 kWh and 49 kWh), it will offer more than 300 km range. Along with a fully digital cockpit, ADAS, 64-colour ambient lighting and wireless charging, the Inster EV will bring global tech to the Indian compact EV space. Its launch is expected by early 2026.
