Maruti Suzuki has recently launched the Victoris mid-sized SUV, which is retailed through ARENA dealership network. The SUV is based on Suzuki’s Global-C platform that also underpins the Maruti Grand Vitara and the Toyota Hyryder. The Grand Vitara is likely to receive a mid-life upgrade sometime in 2026. Similarly, the Toyota Hyryder is also expected to receive changes and features upgrades in future.
It is expected that both Grand Vitara and Hyryder will share new-age features with the Maruti Victoris. The current Hyryder misses out on some key features, including ADAS, which is available in most of its direct rivals. Moreover, Toyota’s version of the Victoris could also be introduced in our market.
The Toyota Hyryder facelift is expected to be equipped with LEVEL-2 ADAS tech with features like adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, lane assist, auto high beam and others.
Other features could include powered tailgate with gesture control, a bigger 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment unit with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto Support, and a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display.
For music lovers, the Hyryder facelift could get an 8-speaker infinity sound system with Dolby Atmos tech for immersive audio experience. The SUV will have an 8-way electrically adjustable driver’s seat, panoramic sunroof and Auto Purify with PM 2.5 display.
The current Hyryder is criticised for its small boot, which could be addressed in the next update. The CNG version could get the underbody CNG tank, as it will free up space to carry more luggage. Maruti Suzuki is not offering spare wheel with the Victoris, and Toyota could follow the similar strategy. The current model offers a 373-litres of luggage space, which further drops to 265-litres with a hybrid engine.
The Hyryder CNG has a boot space of 150-litres, which can go up to 330-litres by introducing underbody CNG tank.
The Toyota Hyryder will continue to be offered with the existing 1.5L petrol and 1.5L hybrid engine. The petrol version is paired to either a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic; latter also gets an AWD drivetrain.
