For Q2 FY26 (July-September 2025), Toyota sold 85,550 units in India, a 4.4% increase from 81,924 units sold in the same period last year. In the first half of FY26 (April-September 2025), total sales stood at 1,84,959 units (domestic and exports combined), showing a healthy 13.7% growth compared to the 1,62,623 units sold in the same months last year.
Several factors have helped Toyota achieve these strong sales figures:
1. GST Benefits: The government’s GST reforms have helped lower car prices, making them more affordable for buyers. Toyota has passed on these savings to customers, which has boosted demand.
2. Festive Season: The festive season has kicked off in India, and many people are purchasing new cars to celebrate. This has contributed to Toyota’s solid sales in September 2025.
3. New and Improved Models: Toyota launched an updated version of the Toyota Rumion, which now comes with six airbags as standard across all variants. Safety features like this have been a hit with customers.
4. Brand Collaboration: Toyota also partnered with DRUM TAO, a Japanese performance group, to be brand ambassadors. This partnership is expected to increase Toyota's visibility and appeal.
