Kia Carens Clavis EV to launch on 15th July MG M9 luxurious MPV bookings open at 51,000 M9 Presidential Limousine to be sold through MG SELECT dealerships
SUVs and MPVs with three rows or 7-seat options offer greater practicality to big Indian families. These cars provide extra space to carry 2-3 extra passengers or additional boot space to carry more luggage during long trips or family functions. While most 7-seater cars are ICE-powered; however, two all-new 7-seater family electric cars are scheduled to be launched in the country in July 2025.
These two upcoming 7-seater electric MPVs will target different set of buyers. While the Kia Carens Clavis EV will target budget conscious buyers, the MG M9 Presidential Limousine will aim at luxury car buyers. If you are planning to buy an electric car with a 7-seat layout, here are two upcoming Family MPVs that will offer six or seven-seat options.
Launch Date - 15th July 2025
Expected Price - Rs 16 - 22 lakh
Battery Pack - 51.4kWh
Range - 490km

Kia will officially launch the new Carens Clavis Electric in the country on 15th of July 2025. It will be the only 7-seater electric vehicle in its category. This EV won’t have a direct rival in our market; however, the Clavis EV could come as a more practical alternative to the likes of MG Windsor EV, Tata Curvv EV and Hyundai Creta Electric.
The EV is likely to get a 51.4kWh battery pack coupled to a front-axle-mounted electric motor. The company has confirmed that the Kia Clavis EV will have a claimed range of up to 490km on a single charge. The electric MPV appears largely identical to the ICE derivative; however, it gets some EV-specific design changes in the form of a blanked-off grille with a charging flat and new aero-optimised wheels.
The electric MPV comes with a dual-tone black and white colour interiors. The cabin layout and seating layout will be identical to the regular Carens, but it will have a redesigned centre console. In terms of features, the electric MPV will have dual 12.3-inch displays for infotainment and driver’s display, a panoramic sunroof, a wireless phone charger, and automatic climate control. Other features could include powered and ventilated front seats, six airbags, electronic parking brake with auto hold, a 360-degree surround view camera, blind spot monitoring, front and rear parking sensors, disc brakes on all-4 wheels and LEVEL 2 ADAS.
Launch Date - July 2025
Expected Price - Rs 65 - 75 lakh
Battery Pack - 90kWh
Range - 430km

MG Motor India has officially confirmed that the M9 luxurious electric MPV will go on sale in our market soon, most probably in July 2025. Interested buyers can book the new electric MPV online or at authorised MG SELECT dealership by paying a token amount of Rs 51,000. Measuring around 5.2 meters in length, the new MG M9 Presidential Limousine will be positioned between the Kia Carnival and Toyota Vellfire in terms of pricing.
The electric MPV will be available with 7- and 8-seater layouts. It comes with two sunroofs (a single pane front and a dual-pane for the rear), a 64-colour ambient lighting, powered front and rear seats with heating, massage and ventilation functions, etc. The electric MPV also gets ottoman seats in second-row, rear entertainment screens, power rear-sliding doors and LEVEL 2 ADAS suite.
The electric MPV is packed with a 90kWh battery pack and a front-axle-mounted electric motor. The combined power and torque output stands at 245hp and 350Nm, respectively. It is claimed to offer a WLTP range of up to 430km on a single charge.
