Toyota Vs Honda Hybrid Engines - Specs, Mileage Compared

We reported earlier that a handful of car manufacturers, including Kia, Hyundai, Mahindra, Renault and Volkswagen are planning to launch their respective hybrid cars in the Indian market. This clearly indicates that the hybrid demand is on rise amid sluggish EV sales. Currently, Toyota, Maruti Suzuki and Honda are selling hybrid cars in our market.

The Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara and Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder are equipped with a strong hybrid engine. Both models are equipped with Toyota’s 1.5-litre, 3-cylinder TNGA hybrid engine. On the other hand, Honda is offering the City with its globally popular 1.5L, 4-cylinder Atkinson cycle engine with e:HEV hybrid tech. Both these powertrains are highly fuel efficient and offer a mileage of over 27kmpl.
