The Korean automaker, Kia is gearing up for the launch of the Carens facelift that has been caught testing multiple times on the Indian roads. Not just the ICE, the new Kia Carens-sized 3-row electric MPV will also go on sale in our market by mid-2025. While official launch details are yet to be revealed, but media reports suggest that the new Carens could go on sale in April 2025.
The 2025 Kia Carens facelift will come with high-end comfort and convenience features, which will be shared with the Syros compact SUV. The Recreational Vehicle will also receive design changes to keep things fresh in the market. It will have a higher-set bonnet line, which gives the Carens facelift a more SUV-ish look. The headlamp and DRLs are likely to be sourced from the Syros. It could get a vertically stacked tail-lights connected by an LED light bar. The MPV will ride on newly designed dual-tone alloy wheels.
The Carens facelift cabin will receive major changes in terms of features and new dashboard layout. In fact, the dashboard is likely to be shared with the Syros compact SUV. It is expected to receive a bigger 12.3-inch HD touchscreen infotainment unit with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 10.25-inch digital driver's display, a new steering wheel.
The 2025 Kia Carens could also receive ventilated rear seats, dashcam with dual camera, smart air purifier, 64-colour ambient mood lighting, 8-speakers Bose sound system, smartphone wireless charger with cooling function, and a panoramic sunroof. The MPV will have a flexible seating layout, which can be folded in different forms to create a wide variety of luggage space.
The Carens facelift is also expected to get premium features like LEVEL 2 ADAS and a 360-degree surround view camera, which are offered in the Syros SUV. It is likely to be sold alongside the existing Carens, and Kia could name the new model differently.
Engine options for the new Carens will remain the same as the existing model. The engine choices include a 115PS, 1.5-litre naturally-aspirated petrol with 6-speed manual, a 157bhp, 1.5L turbo petrol with 6-speed iMT and 7-speed DCT, and a 114bhp, 1.5L turbo diesel with 6-speed manual and 6-speed torque convertor automatic.
