First launched in 2019, the Kia Seltos has been one of the best-selling SUVs in the Indian market. The SUV received its first major update in July 2023, which comes with several segment-leading features. Seeing the growing competition, Kia has started working on the new-generation Seltos that has been caught testing on the Indian roads.
The latest spy images from Korea reveals radical design changes in the new-gen 2025 Kia Seltos. Though covered in heavy camouflage, the new Seltos shows a heavily reworked front fascia that shares similarities with Kia's flagship SUV, the Kia Telluride. The front fascia houses a new and wider grille that adds to its sporty appeal. It features a Telluride-like boxy headlights, flanked by vertical LED daytime running lamps (DRLs).
The face of the new Seltos in spy images show front parking sensors and radar module for ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System). The rear profile also receive new design similar to the Telluride, featuring aggressive lower bumper and newly styled tail-lamps with vertically elongated LED signatures.
The overall size of the 2025 Kia Seltos will largely remain identical to the regular model. It is expected to be based on the same architecture that underpins the current Seltos and Hyundai Creta. The side profile will look similar to the current model, except for the new alloys.
Interior of the 2025 Kia Seltos is yet to be seen in any of the spy images. We expect the new Seltos will share the cabin layout with the new Carnival and the EV5. It will have a layered dashboard with soft-touch materials and leatherette finish. The SUV is expected to get Carnival-like dual-screen setup for infotainment and driver's display. The multimedia unit will offer better user interface and connectivity options.
The SUV is expected to get Syros-like two-spoke steering wheel. Adding to it, the SUV will come with Heads-Up Display, electrically adjustable front seats with ventilation function, automatic climate control, panoramic sunroof and others.
The new Seltos is likely to be offered with the same set of engines including a 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder naturally-aspirated petrol, a 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder turbo diesel and a 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol. Buyers will have multiple engine-gearbox combinations.
If reports are to be believed, the new Seltos could also receive a hybrid powertrain; however, nothing has been confirmed. It could receive the 1.6-litre hybrid engine at a later stage.
The new-gen Seltos is expected to make global debut sometime in 2025. India launch is expected in the end of 2025 or early 2026. The SUV will rival the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Hyundai Creta, Honda Elevate and others in the mid-sized SUV segment. Renault will also introduce the third-gen Duster, which will directly rival the Kia Seltos.
