Hyundai confirmed 7 new nameplates in India Bayon based sub-4 meter crossover to rival Fronx Stargazer based MPV could launch to rival Ertiga
The Korean automaker, Hyundai will enter into three growing segments in the Indian market. The company has officially announced to launch a new off-road SUV and a 7-seater MPV. Moreover, a new sub-4 meter crossover is heading to India to challenge the Maruti Suzuki Fronx crossover. Hyundai will also introduce its first hybrid vehicle in the form of the next-gen Creta in 2027. Moreover, the Palisade hybrid and a new 7-seater hybrid SUV are also coming to our market.
Hyundai has confirmed to introduce 7 all-new nameplates, and a total of 26 new cars in the Indian market by 2030. The Korean automaker is also testing a new sub-4 meter SUV, which is rumoured to be the next compact electric SUV to rival the Tata Nexon EV. Details on the upcoming off-road SUV and new 7-seater MPV are yet to be revealed, but media reports suggest that Hyundai could launch the Stargazer MPV and an all-new rugged SUV with 4WD setup.

We believe that Hyundai could launch a new 7-seater MPV based on the Stargazer MPV on sale in Indonesia. This MPV shares its platform with the Kia Carens, and is expected to carry a price of around Rs 12 lakh to Rs 20 lakh. It will take on the likes of the Kia Carens and Maruti Suzuki Ertiga. The Stargazer is powered by a 1.5L, 4-cylinder, NA Petrol engine produces 115PS and 144Nm of torque. Transmission choices include a 6-speed manual and an IVT.
The India-spec model is likely to share the powertrains with the Creta, including a 1.5L NA petrol, 1.5L turbo petrol and a 1.5L turbo diesel. An electric derivative could also join the line-up. In terms of features, the upcoming Hyundai MPV will have dual screens for infotainment and instrumentation, LEVEL 2 ADAS, automatic AC, sunroof, powered and ventilated front seats and others.
The upcoming Hyundai SUV will come with a boxy, muscular design and will offer serious off-road capabilities. It is expected to be based on an all-new monocoque platform with an AWD drivetrain system. The company currently has no ladder-frame SUV with a proper 4x4 drivetrain; however, the new Boulder SUV Concept previews the brand’s future off-roader for the USA.
If reports are to be believed, Hyundai could utilise the LWB version of the Tucson AWD on sale in the Chinese market. The European-spec Santa FE AWD version could also arrive in our market. The SUV could get a powerful turbo petrol engine and a strong hybrid powertrain.

The new-gen Hyundai Bayon crossover is currently undergoing testing in South Korea and Europe. Codenamed BC4i CUB, the next Bayon will be a sub-4 meter model for India. It will have a cabin similar to the new Venue SUV, featuring a twin display comprising a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment unit and a 12.3-inch driver’s display. It is likely to be offered with a 1.2L NA petrol and a 1.0L 3-cylinder turbo petrol engine. The company is also working on a new 1.2L turbo petrol engine, which will be hybrid ready.
