The iconic off-road SUV is ready for its next big update as the Mahindra Thar 3-Door facelift launch has been confirmed for the end of September 2025, according to sources. With refreshed styling, a tech-loaded cabin, and the same tried-and-tested powertrains, the Mahindra Thar facelift 2025 aims to attract both adventure seekers and city buyers looking for a lifestyle SUV.
Mahindra is expected to showcase the updated Thar towards the end of September, with Thar 3-Door facelift bookings opening shortly after. Deliveries are likely to begin in October 2025, coinciding with the festive season rush.

Mahindra Thar facelift carries forward its rugged stance but now sports design tweaks inspired by the new Thar Roxx. Highlights include a bold new grille, a reprofiled bumper, LED headlamps with C-shaped DRLs, and fresh alloy wheels. At the rear, the SUV gets a revised tail-lamp signature while keeping its boxy proportions intact.
The interior of the Thar 3-Door facelift 2025 sees a major upgrade. A free-standing 10.25-inch infotainment system with Mahindra’s AdrenoX connected car suite is expected, along with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Other upgrades could include a fully digital instrument cluster, automatic climate control, and a wireless charging pad. The steering wheel design, borrowed from the Scorpio N and XUV700, adds a more premium feel.
The Thar 3-Door facelift will continue with the same engine options: a 1.5-litre diesel, a 2.2-litre mHawk diesel, and a 2.0-litre mStallion petrol. Customers will get both RWD and 4WD options, ensuring the SUV retains its dual character as an everyday city car and an off-road specialist.
Currently, Mahindra offers the Thar with a standard hard-top, as the soft-top was discontinued earlier this year. It is unclear whether the facelifted model will bring back the convertible soft-top option, but enthusiasts are hoping for its return to enhance the SUV’s lifestyle appeal.
The official Thar 3-Door facelift price will be revealed at launch, but it is expected to command a premium over the current version due to added features and design changes. Industry estimates suggest prices could rise slightly while still keeping the SUV competitive in its segment.
Mahindra Thar 3-Door facelift launch is expected to further strengthen the SUV’s position in India’s lifestyle off-road segment. With a refreshed look, smarter interiors, and trusted performance, the updated Thar is set to continue as one of Mahindra’s most popular models.
