Mahindra is celebrating the Independence Day by showcasing 4 new concept SUVs, namely Vision S, Vision T, Vision SXT and Vision X at its Freedom_NU event in Mumbai. These concepts preview Mahindra’s future product line-up comprising new off-roaders under Thar and Scorpio nameplate, and a stylish electric SUV under XUV family. The Mahindra Vision S concept appears quite appealing at first glance.
The Vision S concept based SUV is most likely to join the Mahindra Scorpio family. Mahindra is currently selling the Scorpio Classic and Scorpio N in the country. The Vision S based SUV could be the smallest and most rugged looking off-road SUV in the Scorpio line-up.
The Mahindra Vision S concept appears around 4 to 4.3 meters long off-roader. It will be based on the brand’s new NU.IQ modular platform, which will be used to develop vehicles measuring between 3990mm and 4320mm.

The SUV comes with a boxy design with rugged styling elements. It has squrish front profile and massive wheel arches.
Upfront is a twin peaks logo, which is flanked by a triple vertically-stacked LEDs on either side. This set-up comes as a connecting bridge between the inverted L-shaped headlights.
The aggressive lower bumper houses a radar sensor unit and parking sensors. It also accommodates pixel-shaped fog lamps, and black cladding.

There are limb riders on the bonnet and roof-mounted lights, which are not likely to be offered on the production-spec model.
The side profile reflects its off-road characteristics, featuring high stance, thick cladding under the doors along with thick cladding on the wheel arches.

It comes with star-shaped wheels wrapped with 19-inch off-road tyres. The SUV also gets red callipers and disc brakes.
Also visible is a roof ladder on the kerb side and a jerry can on the right, which will not make to the final model.
Instead of traditional ORVMs, the SUV has cameras. Other design highlights include side steps, flush-fitting door handles.

The rear profile also has strong off-road presence with squarish design, and strong black cladding.
It comes with a tailgate mounted spare wheel, inverted L-shaped tail-lamps and a massive bumper housing a grey colour skid plate.
