Mahindra has launched an all-new Ebony Edition for its popular XUV700 SUV. Priced at Rs 19.64 lakh (ex-showroom), the special edition is based on the high-end AX7 and AX7 L variants with both diesel and turbo-petrol options.
Visually, the XUV700 Ebony Edition looks similar to its regular model. The notable change is the blacked out exterior and interior features. In fact, its Stealth Black body color looks more attractive and shinier compared to the existing Napoli Black shade available on the SUV.
Design-wise, its features a blacked-out front grille, complemented by contrasting silver skid plates. On the sides, it sports black 18-inch alloy wheels and black door handles. Besides, the Ebony badging can also be seen on the front doors and tailgate to make it look different from the standard model.
Rest of the rear design including LED tail lights, a roof-mounted spoiler, a shark fin antenna, and a rear washer with wiper remain unchanged.
With this new edition, the XUV700 now offers a total of eight monotone color options and five dual-tone exterior finishes.
Mahindra XUV700 Ebony Edition features an all-black interior with silver accents. The leatherette seats are finished in black with silver contrast stitching, and gloss black elements are present throughout the cabin.
Key areas like the AC vent surrounds, steering wheel, and AC knobs get silver finishes and dark chrome accents. To balance the dark theme, the roof liner is offered in a light grey shade.
Being based on the top-spec variants, it comes packed with advanced convenience and safety features. It includes a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 10.25-inch digital driver display, ventilated front seats, a powered driver’s seat with memory function, a panoramic sunroof, and dual-zone climate control.
On the safety front, it is equipped with Level-2 ADAS, a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), ABS with EBD, electronic stability control (ESC), front and rear parking sensors, a 360-degree camera, and seven airbags for enhanced protection.
Mahindra XUV700 is available with two engine options. The first is a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine that produces 200 PS of power and 380 Nm of torque. The second is a 2.2-litre diesel engine, delivering up to 185 PS of power and 450 Nm of torque.
Both engines are paired with either a 6-speed manual transmission (MT) or a 6-speed automatic transmission (AT). While the petrol variant comes with a front-wheel-drive (FWD) setup, the diesel variant offers both FWD and all-wheel-drive (AWD) options, depending on the variant.
As mentioned earlier, the Ebony Edition is based on the top-spec AX7 and AX7 L trims, carrying a premium of up to Rs. 15,000 over the standard variants. It is exclusively available in the 7-seater configuration and offered with both petrol and diesel engine options. Below is the pricing:
AX7 Petrol MT – Rs. 19.64 lakh
AX7 Petrol AT – Rs. 21.14 lakh
AX7 Diesel MT – Rs. 20.14 lakh
AX7 Diesel AT – Rs. 21.79 lakh
AX7 L Petrol AT – Rs. 23.34 lakh
AX7 L Diesel MT – Rs. 22.39 lakh
