While the Mahindra XUV700 was launched just 2 years ago, it now looks like the brand is planning to introduce a facelifted version of the SUV soon. According to recent reports, an XUV700 facelift is currently under development and will come with new feature additions. Here’s what we know so far.
The test mule was spotted recently on Indian roads clad in heavy camouflage. While the exterior design seems largely identical compared to the current model, what seems to have changed is the interior layout and features.
Interestingly, the test mule was sporting a 6-seat layout. Currently, the XUV700 is offered in only 5-seat or 7-seat layouts. The new layout may be offered as an option on the SUV’s higher variants. Mahindra is also likely to introduce new features to the XUV700 like an auto-dimming rear-view mirror, ventilated front seats, sliding second-row seats, powered boot lid, and updated connected car apps.

Mahindra will offer the same powertrain options on the XUV700 facelift as the current model. This includes a 2.2-litre turbo diesel that either makes 155 bhp with 360 Nm of peak torque or 185 bhp with 420 Nm (450 Nm for the AT) of max torque. The petrol option is a 2.0-litre turbocharged unit that pumps out 200 bhp with 380 Nm of peak torque. Transmission options include a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox.
Mahindra is yet to reveal any launch dates for the XUV700 facelift. Expect it to arrive sometime by the end of this year or early 2024. Currently, it is priced between Rs 14.03 lakh (ex-showroom) - Rs 26.57 lakh (ex-showroom). The XUV700 facelift will rival the likes of the Tata Harrier and Safari, MG Hector Plus, Kia Seltos, Hyundai Creta, and more.
