Maruti Suzuki is going to launch its first electric car, e Vitara, in March 2025. Maruti had introduced the electric SUV a couple of weeks back at the Bharat Mobility Expo 2025. Now, Maruti has provided some key details of the car ahead of the launch. Offline bookings of the e Vitara have begun already, at specific Nexa dealerships in India. No prices have been put on the car, but reports say the e Vitara could fetch a price around Rs. 15 lakh to Rs. 20 lakh, ex-showroom, in the competitive Indian electric cars market. Others electric SUVs that will compete with this model include the Hyundai Creta Electric, Tata Curvv EV, MG ZS EV, and Mahindra BE 6.
Maruti Suzuki will launch the e Vitara in 10 exterior colour options. These are six monotone colours: Nexa Blue, Splendid Silver, Arctic White, Grandeur Grey, Bluish Black, and Opulent Red. Besides the monotone colours, there will be four dual-tone options. The dual-tone versions will have a black roof and A- and B-pillars with contrasting colors such as Arctic White, Land Breeze Green, Splendid Silver, and Opulent Red.
The design pattern given to the e-Vitara by Maruti is aggressive and rough. It has an all-black front grille with many other glossy black elements melting into the LED headlights. It has sporty Y-shaped LED DRLs, an aggressive bumper with integrated fog lights, and huge 18-inch alloy wheels for a very muscular stance. It gets a rear sleekly designed as there is a 3-piece LED tail light connected by gloss-black trim that gives it a really modern SUV.
On the inside of this car, e-Vitara really boasts of its dual-tone tan and black cabin with 10.25 inches touchscreen and 10.1-inch digital driver's display. It has therefore enhanced the interior comfort through reclining rear seats, rear AC vents, and charging port for a customer. Other features include wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, multi-color ambient lighting, and a 10-way powered driver's seat. Level 2 ADAS technology, which includes forward collision avoidance, adaptive cruise control, and lane departure warning, will also be included in the e-Vitara.
The battery of the Maruti e-Vitara comes in two variants. The first option is 49 kWh, with the generation of power being 142.03 bhp, 192 Nm torque, and a driving range of more than 500 km. The second model is a more powerful 61 kWh battery, offering a power output of 171.62 bhp and the same 192 Nm of torque. The both variants will boast front-wheel drive. This should allow the buyers to make a choice between either the performance or the range.
