• MG ZS EV gets new Excite, base variant • MG ZS EV Exclusive variant gets news interior theme • Prices hike for all models
Making its electric SUV more budget friendly, MG Motors India has added a new base variant to the ZS EV’s line-up. The new Excite variant offers more equipment and costs Rs 22.58 lakh (ex-showroom).

While the SUV remains constant from the outside the changes to the new Excite variant include the addition of new equipment like i-Smart connected car features, 360-degree camera, hill-descent control, automatic climate control and AC vents for the rear passengers. Excluding this the car is a familiar unit.

The more expensive Exclusive trim get a new interior finished in black and ivory colour scheme along with new i-Smart features, a dual-pane panoramic sunroof and wireless charging. The new interior colour scheme will be sold as a separate variant at a premium of Rs 10,000.
Despite going through a minor variant rejig, the ZS EV continues to come powered by a 50.3 kWh battery pack that is the largest in the segment. This unit provides the car with a claimed range of 461 kilometres and produces a maximum power output of 176 bhp and peak torque of 280 Nm. Currently the ZS EV offers the longest range and the most power amongst its rivals.
The price range for the new MG ZS EV starts at Rs 22.58 lakh (ex-showroom) and goes up to Rs 26.59 lakh (ex-showroom). The ZS EV competes against the like of the new Tata Nexon EV Max that is priced Rs 4.24 lakh cheaper than the MG.
