New Hyundai Cars Coming - EV, Hybrid and 3-Row SUV Plans Revealed

Hyundai plans EV, hybrid and 3-row SUV for India. New compact EV expected by late 2026. Next-gen Creta and new SUV to get hybrid tech.

Hyundai is preparing a strong lineup of new cars for India over the next few years. The brand is working on electric vehicles, hybrid models and new SUVs, aiming to cover both mass and premium segments.

Here’s a simple look at what’s coming next.

Focus Shifts to EVs and Hybrids

Hyundai is planning a mix of electric and hybrid cars for India.

While EVs will target buyers looking for low running costs, hybrid cars will offer better fuel efficiency without range anxiety. This balanced approach is expected to help Hyundai stay competitive in the changing market.

Compact Electric SUV First

Hyundai’s immediate focus is on a compact electric SUV, which is expected to launch by late 2026.

This model has already been spotted testing and will target the growing EV segment. It is likely to rival the Tata Punch EV, Tata Nexon EV and Mahindra XUV 3XO EV.

This EV is expected to be heavily localised, which could help Hyundai price it competitively.

New 3-Row SUV in the Works

Hyundai is also developing a new three-row SUV, internally known as Ni1i. It will be positioned between the Hyundai Alcazar and the discontinued Hyundai Tucson.

The SUV is expected to offer a more spacious cabin and premium features, making it suitable for families. It could launch around 2027 and may come with a 1.5-litre petrol hybrid engine.

Next-Gen Creta to Get Hybrid Option

The next-generation Hyundai Creta will continue to be a key product for the brand.

The new model, internally called SX3, will be built on a new platform and get updated styling and interiors.

Along with petrol and diesel engines, it is also expected to offer a strong hybrid option, improving fuel efficiency.

Premium SUV Could Join Later

Hyundai is also exploring the launch of the Hyundai Palisade in India.

This large global SUV could arrive around 2028, if approved. It is expected to come with a hybrid powertrain, offering both performance and efficiency.

If launched, it will sit as Hyundai’s flagship model in India.

Hyundai may also bring global products like the Hyundai Bayon to India.

At the same time, the company will continue updating its current lineup, including models like the Hyundai Verna.
