Nissan Tekton launch by June 2026 Based on Duster's RGMP platform Both petrol and hybrid powertrains will be on offer
After introducing the Gravite 7-seater MPV, Nissan India is set to make a comeback in the Indian mid-size SUV segment this quarter. The company will officially launch the much-anticipated Nissan Tekton, which is essentially the redesigned Duster. It is the second product of the Renault-Nissan JV’s revival plan with two more 7-seater SUV arriving based on the Renault Global Modular Platform.
While it shares its mechanics with the newly launched Renault Duster, the Tekton is visually different, with design inspired by the global Nissan Patrol.

The Tekton uses the same RGMP platform that underpins the Duster; however, it draws its design inspiration from the legendary flagship the Nissan Patrol. The teasers and official images reveal an aggressive front design, featuring a massive, vertically-oriented “V-Motion” grille and a raised bonnet with TEKTON lettering. The lighting setup has the Nissan C-motif with connected LED DRLs.
The side body panels and doors are shared with the Duster. It rides on 18-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels and has “Himalayas-inspired” trim on the front doors. At the back, the SUV gets the connected LED bar with C-clamp signature.
The Tekton will have a different dashboard layout. Instead of the Duster’s grey-and-black theme, the Nissan Tekton features a triple-tone dashboard with premium copper accents and gloss black finishes. It will come with a connected curved display for infotainment and digital driver’s display, along with an 8-speaker sound system.
In terms of features, the SUV will get a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, and a 360-degree surround view camera with blind spot monitor. The SUV will also get multiple drive and terrain modes, automatic AC and LEVEL 2 ADAS tech.
The Tekton SUV will share the engine options with the new Duster, including a strong hybrid powertrain and two turbo petrol engines.
1.0L Turbo Petrol: Producing 100hp and 160Nm of torque, paired to a 6-speed manual gearbox
1.3L Turbo Petrol: 163hp and 280Nm of torque, paired with a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed DCT.
1.8L Strong Hybrid: Combined power output of 160hp, expected fuel economy of around 23-25kmpl
The Nissan Tekton is expected to be priced between Rs 11 lakh and Rs 19 lakh, ex-showroom. The hybrid version could cost around Rs 16 lakh to Rs 22 lakh. It will be produced at the Renault’s Chennai based manufacturing facility. Bookings are expected to commence sometime in April-May 2026, while delivers commencing by June-July 2026.
