The all-new Honda Amaze was recently launched with a comprehensively revised design and interior. This time around, the Japanese automaker will keep the outgoing, or second-generation, Amaze on sale alongside the new one, rather than phasing it out. However, select variants (S and VX) of the old model with the petrol-manual engine and gearbox combination will be available for both private and fleet buyers.
The second-gen Amaze S and VX trims are priced at Rs 7.71 lakh and Rs 9.13 lakh, respectively. The aforementioned prices are ex-showroom, India. Buyers will also have the option to go for the petrol-CNG fuel setup with the second-gen Amaze, but it will be available at the dealership level with RTO approval.
When it comes to features, the old Honda Amaze S trim offers a 2-DIN music system, steering-mounted controls, a speed-sensing auto door lock function, silver inserts on the door pad and dashboard, a tilt-adjustable steering wheel, a rear armrest with a cup holder, electrically adjustable and foldable ORVMs, 14-inch steel wheels with wheel covers, body-colored door handles and ORVMs, a shark fin antenna, LED turn indicators on the ORVMs, chrome inserts for the rear bumper, chrome fog light garnish, and C-shaped LED taillamps.
With the old VX trim, you get LED projector headlamps and fog lamps, a rearview camera with guidelines, 15-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, chrome door handles, an engine start/stop button, a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, automatic climate control, cruise control, and paddle shifters.
The third-gen Honda Amaze comes in three grades: V, VX, and ZX, available with petrol-manual and petrol-CVT combinations. The petrol-MT variants are priced from Rs 8 lakh to Rs 9.70 lakh, while the petrol-CVT models cost from Rs 9.20 lakh to Rs 10.90 lakh. All variants are powered by a 1.2L, 4-cylinder petrol engine that delivers 90bhp and 110Nm of torque. Honda claims that the new Amaze offers fuel efficiency of 18.65 kmpl (MT) and 19.46 kmpl (CVT).
With the generational update, the compact sedan receives the Honda Sensing ADAS suite, which includes adaptive cruise control, and dual-tone 15-inch alloy wheels reserved for the ZX trim. The list also includes a LaneWatch camera, connected car features, a wireless charger, rear AC vents, auto climate control with MAX cool mode, a rearview camera, and many more features. Safety features, such as six airbags, electronic stability control, ABS with EBD, traction control, three-point seatbelts with head restraints for all seats, a day/night inside rearview mirror, hill-start assist, Isofix child seat mounts, and rear parking sensors and a camera, come as standard.
