Skoda Elroq electric SUV has made its India debut at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Show in New Delhi. While the model is already on sale in select global markets, there is no official word on its India launch plan yet. However, the Czech automaker previously revealed that the Elroq EV is under consideration for the Indian market. If launched, this new Skoda EV will face challenges from the cars Tata Curvv EV and MG ZS EV. The upcoming Hyundai Creta Electric, Maruti e Vitara, Toyota Urban Cruiser EV and Mahindra BE 6 will also give a tough fight to the Elroq.
Following Skoda’s ‘Modern Solid’ design language, the ElroqEV features the signature grille with a new black panel running across its width. Upfront, it also carries LED headlamps integrated on the bumper, vertically placed air vents, thick plastic cladding on the bumper and a faux silver skid plate. Moving to its side profile, the Skoda Elroq has clean creases with multi-spoke wheels and a large glass house. The rear profile has been adorned with LED taillamps, a dual-tone sporty bumper and ‘SKODA’ badging across the tailgate. The EV is claimed to have a drag coefficient of 0.26.
This new Skoda electric SUV shares some elements with the Enyaq EV including the winged dashboard and a 13-inch central touchscreen infotainment system with the AC vents placed below it. The centre console has also been borrowed from the Enyaq, featuring two cupholders and a lever for the drive selector. The EV also gets a newly-designed steering wheel and a digital instrument cluster. Skoda says that the Elroq EV has upholstery made of sustainable materials using recycled PET bottles, finishing nets and recycled polyester. It offers a boot space of 470-litres, and in-cabin storage compartments with a capacity of up to 48 litres.
Based on the Volkswagen Group’s MEB platform, the Skoda Elroq is being offered with three battery packs – 52kWh and 170bhp, a 59kWh and 204bhp and 77kWh and 285bhp. The smallest battery pack promises a range of 370km on the WLTP cycle, while the largest battery version offers over 560km of range. The 59kWh battery pack model returns a claimed range of over 385km. Skoda claims that the Elroqaccelerates 0 to 100kmph in 6.6 seconds with the 77kWh battery pack, and offers a top speed of 180kmph.
The 52kWh and 59kWh batteries are said to be charged at speeds of up to 145kW, from 10 to 80 percent in 25 minutes. The 77kWh battery takes just 28 minutes to get charged from 10 to 80 percent via 175kW charger. The 77kWh battery version will also be offered with the AWD (all-wheel drive) system and an additional motor fitted on the front axle.
