Skoda Auto Volkswagen India Private Limited has crossed the 50,000 unit production milestone for the Skoda Kylaq in a single year. The Kylaq has been a key contributor for the Group’s 36 percent YoY growth in 2025. The Group has achieved this by enhancing the scale of its India operations and increasing localisation levels.
Speaking on the milestone celebration event, Shri H.D. Kumaraswamy, Union Cabinet Minister of Heavy Industries and Minister of Steel, said, “I congratulate Škoda Auto Volkswagen India on achieving this production milestone and for their continued commitment to the ‘Made in India’ initiative.
“On behalf of Škoda Auto Volkswagen India, I extend our sincere gratitude to the Honourable Minister Mr. H. D. Kumaraswamy for gracing this milestone celebration with his presence.” said Piyush Arora, MD & CEO, Škoda Auto Volkswagen India “The 50,000‑unit milestone for the Kylaq reflects how far our India manufacturing ecosystem has progressed within just one year. It is the result of deeper localisation, stable supplier partnerships and consistent quality on the shopfloor. The success of the Kylaq, developed on the proven MQB‑A0‑IN platform, stands as a strong validation that vehicles designed in India, for India and the world, continue to win the trust and admiration of customers both domestically and globally.”
To meet the rising demand, SAVWIPL has increased production capacity by 30 percent at the Chakan plant. The company has also strengthened engagement with domestic suppliers to achieve higher levels of localisation.
The Skoda Kylaq is powered by a 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder, turbocharged petrol engine that produces 113.43bhp and a peak torque of 178Nm. Transmission choices include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque converter automatic unit.
The new Skoda Kylaq is available in six trims - Classic, Classic+, Signature, Signature+, Prestige and Prestige+. It is available in the price bracket of Rs 7.59 lakh to Rs 13.65 lakh, ex-showroom.
