Tata Motors is all set to launch the much-awaited Harrier EV in India on June 3, 2025, making it the brand’s sixth all-electric model in the domestic market. The upcoming electric SUV will rival the likes of Mahindra XEV 9e and BYD Atto 3, both of which are strong contenders in the premium electric SUV segment.
While official pricing will be revealed at the launch event, industry insiders suggest that the Tata Harrier EV will be priced between Rs 24 lakh and Rs 30 lakh (ex-showroom). This pricing positions it competitively against its closest rivals. The Mahindra XUV 9e currently retails between Rs 21.90 lakh and Rs 30.50 lakh, while the BYD Atto 3 is priced from Rs 24.99 lakh to Rs 33.99 lakh.
Built on Tata’s Gen 2 Acti.ev architecture, the Harrier EV retains the overall design of its internal combustion engine sibling but introduces several EV-specific elements. Key exterior changes include a redesigned front grille, updated bumpers, aero-optimized alloy wheels, and distinctive ‘EV’ badges on the tailgate and front doors.
Inside the cabin, the Tata Harrier EV will share its layout with the ICE version, though with a few exclusive EV-themed updates. It will come loaded with premium features aimed at delivering a tech-rich and comfortable driving experience.
Expected features include a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, digital instrument cluster, four-spoke steering wheel with illuminated Tata logo, and dual-tone interiors. Practical touches such as a rotary dial drive selector, touch-based HVAC controls, and panoramic sunroof will further elevate the experience.
Safety and convenience features are expected to include Level 2 ADAS, electronic stability control, multiple airbags, 360-degree camera, ventilated front seats, dual-zone climate control, and a powered tailgate among others.
Although Tata Motors hasn’t fully disclosed the technical specifications, the Harrier EV is expected to be offered with multiple battery pack options and a dual electric motor setup in higher trims. The SUV will be capable of producing up to 500Nm of torque, delivering robust performance on varied terrains.
The Harrier EV will feature an all-wheel drive (AWD) system along with V2V (vehicle-to-vehicle) and V2L (vehicle-to-load) charging capabilities. The top-spec variant is anticipated to offer an impressive range of over 500km, making it suitable for both urban commutes and long-distance travel.
