Legendary Sierra name plate makes a comeback Harrier EV unveiled as a production intent concept ICE models also see new fuel type additions
Making the biggest noise at the 2023 Auto Expo, Tata Motors has unveiled more than 5 products today. Taking centre stage at hall 14, the company unveiled three new electric concepts along with one ICE and two i-CNG products. Here is a complete run down of everything that was launched:

The first product to be showcased was the Tata Punch and Tata Altroz i-CNG models that now feature split, twin-cylinder technology that helps solve the issue of cramped boot space on the CNG models.
The company also briefly showcased the Altroz Racer and the sporty version of the Tiago.ev during the presentation.

First showcased at the end of April 2022, the CURVV is a second-generation EV construction that is derived from the current generation OMEGA architecture. While the concept showcased last year was in EV, this year Tata Motors has put forth an ICE model that features the same coupe-like roofline along with a new grille at the front. Typical elements like the sleek dynamic LED DRLs, chunky skid plate and body cladding are all part of the new model as well.

Moving away from the troublesome 2.0-litre diesel engine Tata Motors has developed two new TGDI engines indigenously to be used on the company’s future models. This new 1.2-litre and 1.5-litre engines should solve Tata’s safety issue with the Stellantis borrowed 2.0-litre diesel that currently does duty on models like the Harrier and Safari. The new engines are design to offer high performance while also being efficient to run according to the new CAFÉ 2 norms.

As expected, Tata Motors showcased the Harrier EV concept at the Auto Expo 2023. Developed on the Gen 2 architecture, the Harrier EV a bold, powerful, intelligent package in one. Compared to the ICE model, the EV maintains the overall design but features a new blanked of grille and aero style alloy wheels that are similar in design to what was seen on the CURVV SUV concept. Additionally, the Harrier EV will be the first all-wheel-drive electric SUV in India and also among the first Tata Motors product to receive ADAS functionality. According to Tata Motors there is a production intent for the SUV concept soon.

The Sierra EV was first showcased at the last Auto Expo where it was a head turner. Compared to the last concept, the 2023 Sierra EV looks closer to production with its design, proportions and equipment.
