Electric vehicles are gaining more popularity and market share in the Indian car market. Many car brands are introducing their electric variants so is Tata Motors. Presently, Tata Motors is one of the best-selling car brands in India. In a couple of years, the automaker will be launching a number of electric cars. Tata Punch EV and Tata Altroz EV are expected to be introduced by January 2023. Moreover, both EV models could be showcased at the Delhi Auto Expo 2023 in Greater Noida.
Tata Motors launched its Punch SUV in India during the month of October 2021. Since then the model has been a great hit in the market. Now, the company is expected to launch the electric version of Punch by 2023.
2023 Tata Punch EV will be powered by a Zitron electric powertrain that will boast an estimated range of 300 to 350 kms on single charge. As reported, the upcoming Punch EV will get some minor cosmetic changes to differentiate it from the ICE variant. On the pricing front, the EV will be priced near or higher than the Tiago EV.
In 2019, Tata showcased the all-electric variant of its premium hatchback Altroz at the Geneva Motor Show. Tata Altroz EV is based on the (Agile, Light, Flexible & Advanced) ALFA platform which is compatible with electrification. The electric premium hatchback is likely to be launched in the first quarter of 2023.
Going by certain media reports, the 2023 Tata Altroz EV is likely to borrow many features from the current Nexon EV; it may include Power Distribution Unit (PDU), the same electric powertrain and battery pack. The model is also expected to come with Connected Car Technology which enables users to know the vehicle’s status such as charging history and remaining battery charge. In fact, it can even help you to locate the nearest charging station.
