After Tiago EV, Tata Motors to Launch Sierra EV by mid-2026

Sierra EV to launch between July-September 2026 Both RWD and AWD versions will be on sale To rival Maruti e Vitara, Creta Electric and Mahindra BE 6

Tata Motors will launch two new electric SUVs in the Indian market before the end of this year. The next electric SUV from Tata Motors will be the Sierra EV, which is scheduled to be launched in Q2, FY2026-27 (Between July and September). The new electric SUV will be produced at the brand’s Sanand Factory that also produces the Sierra ICE.

The new Tata Sierra will be offered with both rear-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive setups. It is likely to be offered with 55kWh and 65kWh battery packs. The bigger battery version is expected to get a dual-motor for AWD setup. It will be the second Tata model to offer AWD tech after the electric Harrier. The Tata Sierra EV could feature an integrated drive unit, which we have already seen on the Punch EV. In this setup, the motor and key ancillaries are packaged into a single housing.

Tata Sierra EV Front Design

We expect the new Tata Sierra EV to offer a realistic range of up to 450-500km on a single charge. The SUV will be positioned between the Curvv EV and Harrier EV, and is likely to be priced around Rs 18 lakh to Rs 24 lakh. It will rival the likes of the Hyundai Creta Electric, Maruti Suzuki e Vitara, Mahindra BE 6 and others in the segment.

The Tata Sierra EV production model will remain true to its concepts showcased at previous Auto Expos. It will have EV-specific design changes like closed off front grille, and new bumpers, and differently styled aero-optimised alloy wheels. With its boxy, upright silhouette and high ground clearance, the Tata Sierra EV is being marketed as a “go-anywhere” electric SUV in its class.

Inside the cabin, the Sierra EV will have a triple screen dashboard comprising a dedicated 12.3-inch central screen, a 12.3-inch co-occupant entertainment screen and a 10-inch digital driver’s display. Key features will include panoramic sunroof, auto-dimming IRVM, powered front seats with ventilation, electronic parking brake with auto hold and others.
