Creta has led the charge with 15,452 units, up 31% Nexon gains over Brezza by 15,329 units SUVs are gaining well while Seltos is tumbling
SUVs have emerged as the preferred car for the Indian car buyers. Hyundai Creta appeared as the top favourite in November 2024. Followed by Tata Nexon at number two position and third at the hands of Maruti Suzuki Brezza. Here is the detail of how these SUVs have performed.
Hyundai Creta sales in November 2024 were recorded at 15,452 units. Compared to 11,814 units sold in November 2023. It is an increase of 31%. Creta topped the charts due to its glamorous outlook and the newly added features list. It is comfy on the inside, has a smooth drive, and is premium which goes well. With the updated model by Hyundai, it keeps the top slot in mid-size SUVs.
Tata sold 15,329 units in November 2024. Sales are up by 8% from last year. The very fact that so many buyers are attracted to it. It has satisfactory safety features along with new variants making good performance. This makes it affordable for so many buyers of the Nexon.
Maruti Suzuki Brezza sold 14,918 units. Brezza had increased by 11% from last year's 13,425 units. This time, it could not even compete with Nexon. Maruti had added new features to the Brezza, but stiff competition from Nexon and Creta throttled its growth.
Fabulous results delivered by Maruti Suzuki Fronx. Sales witnessed a great spurt of 51% for November 2024, at 14,882 units as against last year's 9,867 units. It looks trendy in size, being highly compact with a sensitive price. Thus, it is a favourite among youngsters.
Kia Sonet was also not bad. It has recorded 9,255 units with a growth of 44% from last year. Aggressive looks, rich features, and affordable prices are attracting the hearts of the people. Mahindra XUV700 and Toyota Innova Hycross too have seen some growth. XUV700 sold 9,100 units, with growth at 26%. Innova Hycross too grew at 14% with 7,867 units.
Some SUVs fared very badly. Hyundai Venue sold 9,754 units. The car is down 13% from last year. Hyundai Exter was 31% down. The car sold just 5,747 units. Kia Seltos is the one with the maximum drop, with 54%. The car's units fell to 5,364 units. The data above will give a sense of how much competition there is. A few cars are left on the sidelines as they are too good.
SUV is the most favourite automobile category at present. They offer space, comfort, and a great road presence. SUVs are fantastic for city drives and great for long distances. More than half of the top 25 cars sold in November 2024 were SUVs.
Hyundai, Tata, and Maruti Suzuki are leading SUVs. The more customers are getting for Tata Nexon and Fronx because they are offering safety and good pricing. Hyundai Creta still is on top of the market with premium features and reliability.
