Kia Motor Cars India is gearing up to boost its presence in the Indian market with a new sub-4-meter compact SUV. Codenamed AY, the company has recently trademarked the name Clavis for the upcoming SUV. The four-wheeler will aim to fill the gap between the popular Sonet and the Seltos SUVs. Let’s see what the new model has will have to offer:
The new upcoming Kia Clavis SUV will is expected to boast a unique and rugged exterior design that will clearly make it stand from the Sonet and the Seltos. Further its tall and boxy profile will aim to achieve more room for the occupants of the vehicle.
This design choice is seen as a solution to the reported issue of limited legroom in the Sonet, where the focus on a larger boot space had unintentionally reduced space for rear passengers. Kia's Clavis SUV is not just a new model; it is a thoughtful response to user feedback and an attempt to cater to diverse preferences.
As for powertrain options, the Clavis is believed to come equipped with an Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) alongside an Electric Power (EV) and a Hybrid Technology based variant. It will share the same platform as the other two SUV’s.
The upcoming Kia Clavis might offer different ways to power your ride. It is likely to come equipped with an Internal Combustion Engine (ICE), Electric Power (EV), or Hybrid Technology. The fun fact is that the Clavis will share the same platform as its engine-powered siblings, making it a part of the same family but with a super eco-friendly twist!
According to the media reports, Kia is planning to make a global debut for Clavis by the end of 2024 and will bring it on sale by early 2025. Upon launch, it will take on the likes of the Tata Punch and Hyundai Exter in its segment.
