Codenamed AY, the company has recently trademarked the name Clavis for the upcoming SUV. The four-wheeler will aim to fill the gap between the popular Sonet and the Seltos SUVs. According to the media reports, Kia is planning to make a global debut for Clavis by the end of 2024 and will bring it on sale by early 2025. Upon launch, it will take on the likes of the Tata Punch and Hyundai Exter in its segment.
It is also said believed that Kia India the Korean automaker aims to manufacture 100,000 units of the upcoming Clavis SUV each year, with the majority of around 80 percent belonging percent, belonging to the ICE-equipped range variants. Additionally, a portion of these units is planned for export to other markets.
