Volkswagen is ready to turn the heat up this financial year. The German carmaker has lined up several launches, including facelifts for its popular models like the Taigun and Virtus. Among them, the Volkswagen Taigun facelift is one of the most anticipated updates and is expected to arrive by the end of the current financial year, likely by March 2026.
Volkswagen Taigun facelift will bring refreshed styling and several new features.
On the outside, expect subtle but noticeable changes such as a revised grille, updated headlamps with LED DRLs, and a redesigned front bumper. Changes to the lower air dam and fog lamp housing are also expected for a more modern appearance.
The side profile may see new alloy wheel designs, while the rear could sport a revised bumper and updated tail-lights.
Inside the cabin, Volkswagen is expected to offer new trim materials, updated colour themes, and added comfort and tech features.
One of the biggest highlights will be the inclusion of Level 2 ADAS features. These will include adaptive cruise control, lane assist, autonomous emergency braking, rear cross-traffic alert, auto high beam, and more.
Front parking sensors are also expected to be added for better manoeuvrability in tight spaces.
Under the hood, no changes are expected. The Taigun facelift will continue with its existing engine options — a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine producing 115hp and 178 Nm of torque, and a more powerful 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine making 150hp and 250 Nm. These will be paired with the same transmission choices: a 6-speed manual, a 6-speed automatic (for the 1.0L variant), and a 7-speed DSG (for the 1.5L variant).
Alongside the Taigun facelift, Volkswagen has a busy launch calendar for 2025. The performance-focused Tiguan R is scheduled for launch in Q2 2025, followed by the sporty Golf GTI around mid-year. The Tayron SUV is set to debut in Q3 2025, and the facelifted ID.4 electric SUV will arrive towards the end of 2025.
