Renault is preparing to launch a refreshed version of the Kiger compact SUV in India this year. The previous version of this SUV was launched back in 2021 and now it will be among the first new launches after a hiatus. Let's go through some expectations that many have from this new upcoming compact SUV version.
The SUV will continue to be based on the CMF-A+ platform, and the Kiger is a mechanical sibling of the Nissan Magnite which got a facelift last year. Now, this time the Kiger will be getting some minor upgrades for the facelift version.
We expect that the SUV will feature some new looks for the lights, bumpers, and wheels. Notably, the carmaker will emboss the new ‘Nouvel’R’ logo as a part of this refresh.
The cabin of the 2025 Kiger is likely to be the same in terms of layout, however new color theme can be seen. As for the other changes, some updates for the dashboard, door trims, and even the upholstery are expected. Along with the improvement in the infotainment system, new C-Type ports, and quality of materials.
The engine options of the Kiger Facelift are likely to be the same as the current line-up. These engine options are a naturally aspirated 1.0-litre petrol engine that delivers 71bhp and a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol unit producing 99bhp. Both of these engines are paired to a five-speed manual as standard, but the non-turbo unit gets an optional AMT and the turbo-petrol can be had with a CVT.
The automaker has not confirmed any specific launch date for the 2025 Kiger, so it is expected that it will arrive by the third quarter.
