Tata Motors has officially announced that the long-awaited Tata Punch facelift will go on sale in our market on January 13, 2025. The company has released the first teaser revealing some interesting design and other details. Its design seems inspired by Tata’s new and larger SUVs, including the Harrier and Safari. However, the SUV retains the original Punch rugged and high-riding character.

The 2026 Tata Punch comes with notable design changes, including new front and rear design. Up front is a slim LED daytime running lamps, and new, rugged lower bumper. The lower bumper comes with black cladding and a silver surround for the air dam. It has new vertically-stacked LED headlights, which we have already seen on the Punch EV. There is no connected LED light bar, instead, it gets new black trim connecting the sleek LED DRLs.
There is front-facing camera placed on the air-intake slit, which suggests that the Punch facelift will come with a 360-degree surround view camera. On a closer look, it is visible that the new Punch has a RADAR sensor module on the lower air-dam. This confirms that the Tata Punch will be the smallest SUV to offer ADAS system in our market. It is early to comment whether the new model will get the LEVEL 2 or LEVEL 1 ADAS system.

The teaser also reveals that the new Punch will have new alloy wheels, connected tail-lights enclosed in black plastic trim and Tata badge on the revised tailgate.

The 2026 Tata Punch facelift won’t receive any mechanical changes. It will continue to be powered by the 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder, naturally-aspirated petrol engine that produces 88hp and 115Nm of torque. The CNG version offers 73.5hp and 103Nm of torque. Transmission choices include a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT.
Scheduled to be launched on January 13, 2026, the 2026 Tata Punch facelift will take on the likes of the Hyundai Exter, Nissan Magnite, Renault Kiger and others in the category. The existing model is priced between Rs 5.50 lakh and Rs 9.30 lakh. We expect the new Punch will cost somewhere between Rs 5.99 lakh and Rs 10.50 lakh, ex-showroom.
