Mahindra has recently showcased 4 exciting new concept SUVs based on the new NU.IQ modular platform. These four concepts will start arriving in production avatar from 2027 onwards. Before these new-gen SUVs, Mahindra will introduce 2 new electric SUVs and facelifts of existing models in the next 6 months.
A total of 4 Mahindra SUVs, including the XUV700 facelift, Thar 3-door facelift, XUV 3XO EV and XEV 7e will arrive in our market by March 2026. In this article, we bring you launch details, specifications and key details of the upcoming new Mahindra SUVs in India.

Mahindra is currently testing the Thar 3-door facelift, which in all probability arriving in September 2025. The new model will receive cosmetic design and interior changes along with a longer list of features. The lifestyle SUV will have a revised front fascia, featuring a Thar Roxx-like grille, and a signature round-shaped headlamps (LED projector unit). Other design changes will include an updated LED tail-lamps, and newly styled 5-spoke alloy wheels.
The Mahindra Thar facelift will retain the all-black interior scheme, but it will have a larger 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment unit with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support. It could also get a larger digital driver’s display, automatic climate control, and a premium sound system with Dolby Atmos. The power window switch control panel will be added to the front door panel. The Thar 3-door facelift could also get ADAS tech. The SUV will continue to be offered with the existing engine options, including a 2.0L turbo petrol, a 1.5L turbo diesel and a 2.2L turbo diesel.

The Mahindra XUV700 will receive a mid-life update with cosmetic design upgrades and a feature-loaded cabin. The SUV is expected to be launched towards the end of this year or early next year. Going by the spy images, it is visible that the SUV will get new LED DRLs, a slightly revised front grille and an updated bumper.
Major changes will be made inside the cabin, as the spy images confirm that the XUV700 facelift will come with a triple screen dashboard. The connected screen houses a central infotainment unit, an instrument panel and a co-occupant entertainment display unit. Other addition will include a new steering wheel with mounted controls and an auto dimming IRVM. It could get an updated 16-speaker Harman/Kardon audio system with Dolby Atmos audio tech.
The XUV700 facelift will continue to be offered with 2.0L turbo petrol and 2.2L turbo diesel engine. Both manual and automatic gearbox options will be on offer.

The long-awaited 7-seater Mahindra XEV 7e (also known as XUV700 electric) will be launched in the first quarter of 2026, between January and March. It will be based on Mahindra’s INGLO Born-EV platform. It will share the powertrain with the XEV 9e, which is available with 59kWh and 79kWh LFP battery packs and in a rear-wheel-drive avatar. However, the XEV 7e will come with a dual-motor AWD set-up. Expect a realistic range of around 450-500km in a single charge.
The Mahindra XEV 7e will have size similar to the XUV700 SUV. It is expected to be offered with two seating options - a 6-seater with captain seats in second-row and a 7-seater. Key features will include a triple screen dashboard, panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control, ventilated front seats, HUD, auto park features and LEVEL 2 ADAS.

Mahindra is testing its smallest electric SUV based on the XUV 3XO, which is expected to be launched sometime in the first quarter of 2026. The Mahindra XUV 3XO EV will directly rival the Tata Nexon EV and the MG Windsor EV. The SUV looks identical to its ICE-powered XUV 3XO, except for the few changes to its front profile. It will have a closed-off front grille and bumper, a redesigned tailgate and new aero-optimised wheels.
The cabin will look similar to the Mahindra XUV 3XO, except for few premium touches such as copper detailing around the gear lever and touchscreen unit. In terms of features, the electric SUV is likely to get a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment unit, a digital driver’s display, dual-zone climate control, a panoramic sunroof, and LEVEL 2 ADAS tech.
The Mahindra XUV 3XO EV is likely to come with two battery packs, a 34.5kWh and a 39.4kWh. It is expected to offer a realistic range of around 300-350km on a single charge.
