February hasn't been as busy a month for new car launches as January, but some major special editions have been launched by some of the manufacturers. The special editions introduce fresh designs, added equipment, and occasionally even a little extra premium vibe to mainstream models. In this article, we shall explore the specifics of four new recent special car launches.
MG Comet EV has introduced a fresh special variant in the form of the Blackstorm Edition on 26th February, 2025. The most compact vehicle on the list, it is filled with a striking appearance. The vehicle now comes with an all-black paint job with Starry Black color and red trim, giving it a sporty look. Black interior upholstery is available, as well as distinctive Blackstorm badges. The Blackstorm Edition is a variant based on the highest trim known as the Exclusive FC, and it will set you back around Rs. 7.8 lakh (ex-showroom) if you opt for the battery rental. If you buy the battery as a separate unit, it will set you back Rs 9.81 lakh. The vehicle also receives a 4-speaker audio system, which is more than the lowest-end Comet's 2-speaker setup. The ride is the same as the standard model without any powertrain upgrade.
Mahindra Scorpio N has also been given a unique trim by the name of Carbon Edition on 24th February, 2025. The trim brings a sporty look to the SUV in terms of black-out alloy wheels, a grey-colored skid plate, and black highlights on the exterior. Internally, the interior is lined with all-black seats, enhancing the rugged look of the car further. The Scorpio N Carbon Edition is based on the Z8 and Z8L versions of the regular Scorpio N, and it comes with petrol as well as diesel engines. The vehicle comes in 2WD and 4WD options. The Scorpio N Carbon Edition price is Rs. 19.19 lakh to Rs. 24.89 lakh (ex-showroom).
Tata Motors India has introduced a limited-edition version of its Harrier SUV known as the Harrier Stealth Edition on 13th February, 2025. The limited-edition vehicle varies from others in the sense that it comes with a matte-black finish along with black-out accents such as the grille and the alloy wheels. The interior too is decorated with the dark theme in the form of an all-black color. Harrier Stealth Edition gets a 2-litre diesel engine, and is available with both manual and auto transmission. It is also equipped with some luxury goodies like a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, panoramic sunroof, 360-degree camera, powered and ventilated front seats, dual-zone climate control, and multi-color ambient lighting. This variant begins at Rs. 25.09 lakh (ex-showroom).
Tata Motors has also introduced a special edition of its three-row SUV, Safari. The Safari Stealth Edition is inspired by the Harrier Stealth Edition, which features a black color and blacked-out features such as the grille and alloy wheels. Even the inside follows the dark color scheme. This variant is based on the top trim called Accomplished+ and is priced Rs. 25,000 above the base model. The Safari Stealth Edition comes in six-seater and seven-seater versions. Similar to the Harrier, it also receives the 2-litre diesel engine and manual and automatic gearbox.
The Honda City sedan has been blessed with a new special variant in the form of the Apex Edition on 3rd February, 2025. The edition gives the sedan an upper-class feel. The City Apex Edition is built on the middle-spec V and VX models, and its cost is around Rs. 25,000 higher than the standard versions. It gets distinctive Apex Edition badging, soft-touch leatherette upholstery inside, and ambient lighting inside, which is otherwise an extra-cost option. The Honda City Apex Edition prices start from Rs. 13.30 lakh to Rs. 15.62 lakh (ex-showroom). These updates enhance the interior premium, providing an enhanced overall experience for customers.
