Honda 0 Alpha SUV India Launch in Second Half of This Year - Official

Honda 0 Alpha Electric SUV launch confirmed for this financial year To rival Mahindra BE 6 and the upcoming Tata Sierra EV

At the launch event of the new ZR-V and City facelift, Honda Cars India confirmed that its highly anticipated, ground-up electric SUV based on the Honda 0 Alpha SUV will make its commercial debut in the second half of this year. We believe that the launch of the new electric SUV could take place in Q1, 2027, between January and March.

This confirmation follows the commencement of extensive public road testing that kicked off from Honda’s Tapukara facility in Rajasthan. It also signals a massive, localised shift in the Japanese automaker’s global EV roadmap. Honda has also confirmed that the electric SUV will be made in India and made for India and world. It will also be exported to international markets, including Japan.

The spy images suggest that the production version will remain true to its original concept. The Honda 0 Alpha EV concept based SUV will have a unique design, featuring a flat tailgate and a large glass area. It will offer strong road presence with an upright stance and boxy shape. Honda Cars India will be focussing on offering spacious and practical cabin. It will rival the likes of the Hyundai Creta Electric, MG ZS EV, Maruti Suzuki e Vitara, Mahindra BE 6 and the upcoming Tata Sierra EV.

The new electric SUV will be tested across highways, city conditions and different terrains to evaluate durability, efficiency and overall performance. The new Honda 0 Alpha EV will be the most advanced and feature-loaded car from the Japanese brand in the Indian market. It will be packed with modern tech with features like new infotainment unit with smartphone connectivity, digital driver’s display and connected car tech.

Honda is yet to reveal the exact details of the battery pack and electric motors. We expect the new EV to come with two battery options with higher-spec variants getting bigger battery. We expect the new electric SUV will be aiming to offer a realistic range of around 450km on a single charge.
