Honda to launch 10 new SUVs, hybrids and EVs. New PF2 platform will debut on a new flagship 7-seater SUV.
Honda Motor Company announced its product offensive comeback plan for the Indian market in late 2025. The Japanese automaker has confirmed 10 new models across EV, hybrid and electric segments, set to arrive by 2030. Aiming to strengthen its position against rivals like Maruti Suzuki, Toyota Kirloskar Motor and Hyundai, Honda Cars India will have a strong focus on the SUV segment with seven new models. These will include both locally developed and global products.
Unlike the Honda City e:HEV, which is currently the brand’s only hybrid offering in India, the upcoming Honda hybrid models will be designed on an all-new PF2 platform. This new modular architecture will be heavily localized, and will support both ICE (internal combustion engine) and EV powertrains. It will offer higher body rigidity, and will be nearly 90kg lighter than the brand’s existing hybrid architecture.
A new Honda 7-seater SUV will be the first model to be underpinned by the PF2 platform, followed by the sixth-generation Honda City in 2028 and a compact SUV in 2029. All these models are expected to be priced between Rs 15 lakh – Rs 30 lakh (ex-showroom). The next-generation Honda City will derive its design inspiration from the Honda 0 Series sedan concept, which first broke cover at the 2025 Japan Mobility Show.
Honda has confirmed the all-new 0 Alpha electric SUV for the Indian market, which was first showcased at the 2025 Japan Motor Show. The EV has already entered in its initial testing phase to evaluate performance across extreme terrains and climatic conditions. It will be manufactured at Honda’s Tapukara facility in Rajasthan.
Honda has recently revised its global EV plans and cancelled the larger 0-Series SUV and sedan due to reduced incentives for EV purchases and manufacturing in the US market. The carmaker said that policy changes under Doland Trump could impact its profitability. Additionally, increasing competition from Chinese automakers has further affected Honda’s EV business.
