Syros EV launch expected soon Sorento hybrid SUV coming Carnival hybrid also planned
Kia is preparing for a major product expansion in India, with a strong focus on electric and hybrid vehicles. The company has confirmed plans to introduce multiple new models over the next few years, aiming to strengthen its presence across segments.
As part of this strategy, Kia will bring a mix of affordable EVs and premium hybrid vehicles to reach more buyers.

The Kia Syros EV is expected to be one of the brand’s next launches in India. It will sit below the Kia Carens Clavis EV, making it the most affordable electric vehicle in Kia’s lineup.
Test mules have already been spotted on Indian roads, indicating that the launch is close. The design is expected to remain similar to the ICE version, with subtle EV-specific updates.
Inside, the Syros EV is likely to retain a familiar cabin layout. It will be based on the K1 platform, which it shares with the Hyundai Inster EV.
While official specifications are yet to be revealed, the Inster EV offers battery packs of up to 49kWh with a claimed range of around 369 km. The Syros EV could deliver similar performance figures.
The expected price range is between Rs 15 lakh and Rs 20 lakh (ex-showroom), putting it in direct competition with the Tata Nexon EV and MG Windsor.
Kia is also planning to introduce the Sorento hybrid SUV in India. It will be positioned above the Kia Seltos and target buyers looking for a larger three-row SUV.
The Sorento is expected to measure around 4.8 metres in length and offer a spacious cabin. It will likely be powered by a hybrid powertrain, aimed at delivering a balance between performance and efficiency.
In terms of pricing, the Sorento hybrid could be positioned around Rs 30 lakh (ex-showroom), competing with models like the Mahindra XUV700.

Kia is also working on bringing a hybrid version of the Carnival to India. The current model is already available with a diesel engine, but the hybrid version will offer improved fuel efficiency and lower emissions.
Globally, the Carnival hybrid uses a 1.6-litre turbo petrol engine paired with an electric motor, producing around 272 hp and 367 Nm of torque. It remains to be seen if the same setup will be introduced in India.
Kia has confirmed that it will localise production for these upcoming models. This move will help in keeping costs competitive and improving availability.
The company is targeting annual sales of 4.1 lakh units in India by 2030, along with a market share of 7.6 percent.
