The long-awaited Kia Syros is scheduled to make global debut in India on December 19, 2024. Prices of the new SUV are likely to be released at the Bharat Mobility Show in January 2025. Ahead of the official reveal, Kia has shared a new teaser on its social media platforms revealing its exterior styling.
The Kia Syros in teaser is finished in a unique sky blue paint scheme. The teaser confirms that it will carry a rugged styling, never seen before in any Kia SUV on sale in our market. It will have a boxy design with significant use of rugged cladding all-around to offer a sporty look. The Syros will be marketed as a lifestyle SUV, featuring flared wheel arches, flat roof with usable roof rails, cladding over wheel arches, and flatter nose.
The new Kia Syros has flat bonnet and rugged-looking bumper that houses uniquely styled triple quad headlamp setup with L shaped DRLs. The rear also gets L shaped tail-lights, which seems not connected via LED bar. The SUV gets rectangular shaped glass area for second-row doors, which should offer an airy feel to passengers sitting in the second-row.
The big news is that the new Kia Syros will come with Flush Door Handles, which is also first-in-the-segment. Not just this, the SUV will offer several segment-leading features like panoramic sunroof, front parking sensors, 360-degree surround view camera and LEVEL 2 ADAS. It promises to offer more space in the second-row compared to the Sonet. After Hyundai Venue, the Kia Syros will be the second-model to offer reclining second-row seats.
The Kia Syros will be powered by a 118bhp, 1.0-litre 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol and 114bhp, 1.5-litre turbo diesel engine options. Just like Sonet, the entry-level Syros could come with a 1.2L naturally-aspirated petrol engine with a manual gearbox option. The Syros based electric SUV is also reportedly under development, which is expected to arrive towards the end of 2025 or early 2026.
The new Kia Syros will sit between the Sonet and Seltos in Kia line-up. It is expected to be priced somewhere between Rs 8.5 lakh to Rs 14 lakh. The lifestyle SUV will rival the likes of Mahindra XUV 3XO, Tata Nexon and Maruti Brezza.
Tata Altroz 2025 facelift teased with refreshed design, new features like 10.25-inch screen, LED lights, and 6 airbags. Launching on May 22.
