Mahindra will reveal two new electric SUVs on January 17 - the Rall-E concept and the XEV 7e. The company is focusing on presenting these EVs at Bharat Mobility Show 2025. Rall-E is an off-road version of the BE 6 electric SUV. The XEV 7e is the electric variant of the very popular XUV700, which maintains the traditional SUV design but puts an electric powertrain underneath. These are both part of Mahindra's foray into electric and off-road vehicles.
Here's a closer look at what to expect from each.
The Mahindra Rall-E will be an off-road rugged concept that was initially unveiled at the EV Fashion Festival in Hyderabad back in February 2023. It is based on the BE 6 and designed for off-roaders. Rall-E will features some major design changes to make it more suitable for tough terrains.
The front of the Rall-E will have a sleek strip of DRLs instead of the C-shaped DRLs on the BE 6. The side profile will also showcases rugged tires, plus more cladding, so it will have the appearance of something very tough and hard-wearing. The Rall-E will boast a more aggressive rear bumper with just one strip of tail-lights, as opposed to the C-shaped lights found on the BE 6. A roof-mounted carrier, spare wheel, and jerry cans will finish its off-road ready appearance.
Mahindra XEV 7e will be the electric variant of most popular, XUV 700. This electric SUV could be equipped with two different battery sizes: 59kWh and 79kWh. A single motor unit is also possible, as well as the all-wheel drive using two motors. It is expected to have a maximum of 656 kilometers of range.
There will be many new features likely to have with the XEV 7e. The car's design will feature bumpers, alloy wheels, and a blanked-off grille. Full-length LED light bar and projector headlamps will also come at the front. Inside the cabin, it will have a dual-tone upholstery design with three-screen dashboard, and there will be a panoramic sunroof as well.
The XEV 7e will be available with a list of standard features such as 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, reverse parking sensors, and a speed alert system. Higher variants will likely to add some more features, including auto parking, tire pressure monitoring, and Level 2 ADAS.
