Mahindra is set to showcase a new set of vehicles, including concepts, New Bolero Neo and future products at its Freedom_NI event scheduled on 15th August in Mumbai. The event will present Mahindra’s new vehicle architecture, dubbed as “NU”. This is a flexible architecture that will support both ICE and electric vehicles.
After releasing a new teaser of its upcoming Vision.T SUV, Mahindra Automotive on its social media platform has released a new teaser showing its new SUV concept, called the Vision.S. The teaser shows both the ICE and Mahindra Electric Origin logos, suggesting that the upcoming Freedom_NU platform will be compatible with multiple powertrains, including petrol, diesel, hybrid and EV.

While the Vision.T Concept is expected to showcase the Electric Thar, the newly teased Mahindra Vision.S is likely to preview the Scorpio Electric or the new Scorpio-N based pickup.
For people not in the know, Mahindra had showcased the Scorpio N pickup concept and the Thar electric concept in 2023. However, both models never hit the Indian roads for testing purposes. The production version of the Scorpio N Pickup will be a global lifestyle pickup, which will target International markets such as Australia, South Africa, and the Middle East.
The Scorpio N Pickup is likely to be powered by the same 2.2L turbo diesel engine that powers the Scorpio N. The global-spec model could also get a petrol derivative.
The Mahindra Scorpio-N electric could use the new Freedom-NU platform with dual-motor set-up for AWD set-up. Mahindra could also use the body-on-frame approach by tweaking the architecture to house battery packs and electric motors.
Mahindra will also showcase the new Bolero Neo on 15th August 2025. The new SUV has been caught testing multiple times on the Indian roads. It will come with an all-new design and a modern cabin with more tech features. The SUV is likely to get a more powerful 1.5L turbo diesel engine that powers the Thar and XUV 3XO.
