The homegrown UV maker, Mahindra will showcase its new range of Electric SUVs including BE 6 and XEV 9e at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Global Expo. Adding to it, the company is likely to showcase upgraded versions and specials editions of its existing ICE models including the 2025 Mahindra Scorpio N and XUV700 facelift.
The Mahindra Scorpio N facelift is most likely to debut at the 2025 Delhi Auto Expo on January 17; however, Mahindra is yet to make an official announcement on the same. Let's talk in detail about the possible changes likely to be on offer with the updated Scorpio.
The 2025 Mahindra Scorpio N will come equipped with advanced driver assistance system or ADAS tech, which are available in most of the Mahindra SUVs including XUV 3XO, Thar Roxx and the XUV700. It will offer ADAS features such Autonomous Emergency Braking, Lane Keep Assist, Lane Support Assist, Blind Spot Monitoring, Lane Departure Warning, Adaptive Cruise Control, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, and others.
For people not in the know, the Scorpio N is sold as Scorpio in Australia. The Australian-spec model has received 0-star crash test rating from the Australian New Car Assessment Program (ANCAP) in 2023. On the other hand, the Scorpio N scored full 5-star safety rating in Global NCAP crash test in 2024.
The Mahindra Scorpio N lacks Autonomous Emergency Braking and Lane Support System, which is mandatory in Australia's new safety regulations. To achieve higher safety standards, Mahindra needs to equip the SUV with necessary ADAS tech.
The Scorpio N is based on the brand's new ladder-frame chassis that also underpins the Thar Roxx. The Mahindra Thar Roxx is fitted with ADAS tech, and is huge hit in the Indian market. In fact, it received Indian Car of the Year or ICOTY award by defeating the likes of new Maruti Dzire and new Honda Amaze.
The new Scorpio N will add more features compared to the current car. It is expected to receive the Panoramic Sunroof, which is even available with the Mahindra Thar Roxx. The Thar Roxx is also the first SUV based on ladder-frame chassis to offer panoramic sunroof.
Adding to it, the Scorpio N facelift could share some of its features with the lifestyle SUV. It is likely to feature a 360-degree surround view camera, a 10.25-inch digital driver's display, a larger 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment unit and an electronic parking brake with auto hold function.
The Mahindra Scorpio N facelift is likely to be powered by the same set of engines that powers the outgoing model. It is available with two engine options - 2.0L 4-cylinder turbo petrol and 2.2L turbo diesel. The turbo petrol engine is capable of producing 200bhp and 370Nm of torque, which increases to 380Nm with automatic gearbox.
The diesel engine is tuned to offer two states of tunes - 130bhp/300Nm and 173bhp/370Nm. The torque increases to 400Nm with automatic gearbox. It offers 3 drive modes - Zip, Zap and Zoom. A rear-wheel-drive setup is offered as standard, while the 4WD system is offered with higher-spec diesel variants. The SUV gets 4 terrain modes namely Normal, Grass/Gravel/Snow, Mud/Rut. and Sand. It is equipped with new 4 XPLOR 4WD system with a low-range mode.
MG Hector petrol variants now E20 fuel compatible; 2025 model launched with no price hike, meeting new emission norms and supporting sustainable mobility.
