The Mahindra Scorpio and Thar Roxx are among the top-selling Mahindra SUVs in the country. If these two models are on your purchasing radar, it is important to know about their waiting period. Check out the variant-wise waiting period of the Scorpio N, Scorpio Classic, 3-door Thar and Thar Roxx SUVs here:
As of February 2025, the Scorpio N has a waiting period of up to two months. The entry-level Z2 variant, which is available with petrol-MT and Diesel-MT engine-gearbox combos, is running on a waiting period of up to 1 month. While petrol-MT version is priced at Rs 13.99 lakh, the diesel-MT variant costs Rs 14.89 lakh. The Z4, Z6, Z8 and Z8 L variants are also experiencing a waiting period of up to 1 month. The Z8 Select trim is in high demand, and observes a waiting period of around 2 months. This trim has been priced between Rs 17.33 lakh – Rs 19.33 lakh.
The Mahindra Scorpio N uses a 2.2L turbo diesel engine that’s good enough for 175bhp and 400Nm. The SUV’s petrol version comes with a 2.0L turbo motor, delivering a peak power of 203bhp and 370Nm of torque. Both manual and automatic gearboxes are on offer. The higher variants of the SUV are exclusively offered with the 4WD system.
The Mahindra Scorpio Classic lineup comes in two trims – S and S11 – priced at Rs 13.62 lakh (7-seater)/Rs 13.86 lakh (9-seater) and Rs 17.34 lakh (7-seater)/ Rs 17.49 lakh (9-seater), respectively. All four variants have a waiting period of up to 1 month in most cities. Powering the Scorpio Classic is a 2.2L turbo diesel engine, pushing out a maximum power of 130 bhp and 300 Nm of torque. Transmission duties are performed by a 6-speed manual gearbox.
Given its popularity, the Mahindra Thar Roxx has been witnessing a waiting period of up to 18 months (i.e. 1.5 year). The SUV’s MX1 base variant comes with the petrol manual and diesel manual options, priced at Rs 12.99 lakh and Rs 13.99 lakh, respectively. This variant command the longest waiting period of up to 1.5 year.
The same applies to the top-end AX7 L 4X4 trim which is available at Rs 21.59 lakh (for the diesel manual variant) and Rs 23.09 lakh (for the petrol manual variant). It is running on a waiting period of up to 18 months, while the AX 7 L 4X2 trim is being promised to be delivered in up to 10 months. Customers opting for the Thar Roxx MX3, AX3L, MX5 and AX5 L trims will have to wait for up to 6 months.
The Convertible Hard Top 4WD variant of the 3-door Mahindra Thar is currently observing a waiting period of up to 5 months. Buyers will need to wait for up to 3 months for the Hard Top 4WD petrol and diesel and RWD Hard Top diesel variants of the SUV. If you are opting the Thar Hard Top RWD variant, you have to wait for over 2 months.
