The homegrown UV maker, Mahindra, is all set to showcase a wide range of EVs at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Show. The company is expected to reveal the full prices of the new Mahindra BE 6 and the XEV 9e electric SUV Coupe. Adding to it, the long-awaited Mahindra XUV700 EV is most likely to make its public debut at the Auto Expo in January 2025.
Rumoured to be called the Mahindra XEV 7e, the new EV will be a more practical offering from the homegrown brand. It is basically the production version of the XUV.e8 concept that debuted in 2022-23 alongside XUV.e9, and BE-range of e-SUV concepts. It will be a 7-seater electric SUV, which will directly rival the upcoming Tata Safari EV. The new model will be based on the brand’s new INGLO skateboard architecture that underpins the BE 6 and XEV 9e.
The new Mahindra XEV 7e is expected to cost somewhere around Rs 21 lakh to Rs 30 lakh. It is expected to share the powertrain with the Mahindra XEV 9e. The battery options include a 59kWh and 79kWh unit, offering a claimed range (MIDC) of 542km and 656km, respectively. While the XEV 9e and BE 6 are offered with a single, rear-axle-mounted electric motor, the Mahindra XEV 7e will also receive a dual-motor AWD setup.
Going by the spy images available on the Internet, the Mahindra XEV 7e will share the cabin layout with the XEV 9e. It is expected to get a dual-tone Black and White interior theme with piano black inserts on the center console. The SUV will have a triple-screen setup for the infotainment unit, driver's display and passenger display.
The new XEV 7e will be equipped with LEVEL 2 ADAS tech with features like autonomous emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitoring, lane assist, auto high-beam, collision avoidance assistance and others. The SUV will be equipped with powered & ventilated front seats with a memory function, a panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control, 360-degree surround view camera, and others.
