Mahindra has been building a strong electric lineup with the XEV range for its portfolio. This lineup has the XEV 9e as its first SUV EV in the segment following which the XEV 7e is now expected to enter. This electric SUV is the production version of the Mahindra XUV.e8 concept that debuted in 2022-23.
Though the brand has yet to make an official reveal, let's have a look at what is expected from this SUV.
As per the reports on the new XEV 7e, it is based on the ICE version of the XUV700 SUV with some major changes. The car is likely to be modified from the front and back bumper, getting vertically stacked triangular LED headlamps, and LED light bars at the front and rear.
Other design elements are expected to feature new alloy wheels with aero inserts and a blanked-off grille. The SUV will be as large as its standard version available in the market.
The cabin layout will be similar to the one offered in the Mahindra XEV 9e. The electric XUV700 is expected to be equipped with new dual-tone seats, a captain seat layout for the second row, and a panoramic sunroof. Moreover, the SUV could have the triple-screen setup that was seen in the already-launched XEV 9e.
The SUV gets the Auto Park feature, which uses 12 ultrasonic sensors to find the ideal parking spot and then parks itself. It will also come with Level 2 ADAS with five radars and one camera.
The homegrown automakers have yet to reveal the technical specifications of the XEV 7e SUV. It will be a practical 7-seater electric SUV based on Mahindra's Born-electric platform, called the INGLO which underpins both the BE6 and XEV 9e. So, it is likely that the XUV 7e will be offered in two battery pack options, 59 kWh and 79 kWh just like these SUVs. The battery packs could be paired with a single or dual electric motor setup.
