The homegrown UV maker, Mahindra is gearing up for the launch of two 7-seater SUVs in the Indian market. Out of these two models, one is the facelift of the popular Mahindra XUV700. The other model is the long-awaited XEV 7e, which is based on the brand’s INGLO skateboard platform. Both SUVs will be launched before the end of this financial year. Let’s talk about these two 7-seater family SUVs in detail -

Mahindra has started testing the XUV700 facelift, which is scheduled to be launched sometime late this year or early next year. The new model will receive cosmetic design and interior changes; however, mechanics remain the same. The SUV gets a newly styled LED daytime running lamps and a slightly revised front grille and an updated bumper.
The majority of the changes will be made inside the cabin. It will come with a triple screen dashboard, which we have already seen on the Mahindra XEV 9e. The connected screen houses a central infotainment unit, an instrument panel and a co-occupant entertainment display unit. The SUV will have a new steering wheel with mounted controls similar to the ones seen on the XEV 9e.
Another welcome addition will be the auto dimming IRVM, as the current model misses out on this feature. The SUV could also get an updated 16-speaker Harman/Kardon audio system with Dolby Atmos audio tech. The Mahindra XUV700 facelift will continue to be offered with the 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol and 2.2-litre turbocharged diesel engine. Both manual and automatic gearbox options will be on offer.

The Mahindra XEV 7e 3-row electric SUV will go on sale in the first quarter of 2026, between January and March. It will be the third model based on Mahindra’s INGLO Born-EV platform. The new model will be branded as a premium 7-seater family EV. It is expected to share its powertrain with the XEV 9e, which is available with 59kWh and 79kWh LFP battery pack options. However, the XEV 7e will come with a dual-motor AWD set-up. The SUV should offer a realistic range of up to 450-500km in a single charge.
The SUV will have similar proportions as the XUV700, but the front face is expected to be shared with the XEV 9e. It is likely to be offered with two seating options - a 6-seater with captain seats and a 7-seater with bench-type seats.
Key features will include a triple screen dashboard, panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control, front ventilated seats, auto dimming IRVM, Augmented reality HUD, multi-colour ambient lighting, wireless smartphone charger, auto park feature and front parking sensors. It will come with LEVEL 2 ADAS tech, multiple airbags, electronic parking brake with auto hold function, and many more.
