2027 Hyundai Creta Set for Major Transformation with New K3 Platform

New Hyundai Creta expected to grow significantly in size. K3 platform could bring hybrid and AWD options. India launch likely in early 2027.

Hyundai is preparing one of the biggest updates yet for the Creta as the next-generation model has started revealing more details through fresh spy sightings.

Expected to make its global debut by late 2026 before launching in India in early 2027, the new Creta will reportedly move to Hyundai’s advanced K3 platform, bringing larger dimensions, more technology and support for hybrid and electric powertrains.

Recent test mule sightings alongside the current-generation Creta have also confirmed that the next model will be noticeably bigger than before.

The upcoming Hyundai Creta is expected to grow significantly in size compared to the current model.

Spy videos from Manali showed the next-generation Creta parked beside the existing version, clearly highlighting the difference in proportions.

Reports suggest the new SUV could measure close to 4,500 mm in length, making it substantially longer than the current Creta, which is 4,330 mm long.

The increased dimensions are expected to give the SUV a stronger road presence while also improving practicality for families.

Hyundai is likely to offer a longer wheelbase as well, which should translate into better rear-seat legroom and increased cabin comfort. The boot space could also improve beyond the current 433-litre capacity.

New K3 Platform to Bring Major Upgrades

One of the biggest changes for the next-generation Creta will be the switch to Hyundai’s new K3 platform.

This architecture is being developed to support multiple powertrain technologies including petrol, hybrid and electric options. It is also expected to underpin the next-generation Kia Seltos.

The new platform could help Hyundai introduce features and technologies that were not possible on the existing Creta.

Apart from better cabin packaging, the K3 platform may also improve ride quality, safety and overall driving dynamics.

Hybrid Powertrain Expected

A hybrid version of the Creta is expected to join the lineup sometime after launch.

This would allow Hyundai to compete more aggressively against strong-hybrid rivals such as the Maruti Grand Vitara and Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder.

While official details are still under wraps, the new platform’s compatibility with electrified powertrains strongly hints at Hyundai’s future hybrid plans for India.

The next-generation Creta may also receive all-wheel drive and multi-link rear suspension on higher variants, making it more premium and capable than before.

Segment-First Technology Incoming

The upcoming Creta is also expected to receive a massive upgrade in terms of in-car technology.

One of the standout additions could be Hyundai’s new Pleos Connect infotainment and cockpit system, which has already been spotted on earlier test vehicles.

The SUV is also likely to become a Software-Defined Vehicle (SDV), enabling comprehensive over-the-air (OTA) updates.

This could allow Hyundai to roll out software upgrades, feature additions and even performance or suspension-related improvements remotely in the future.

More Advanced ADAS Features Likely

Safety is expected to be another major focus area for the next-generation Creta.

Hyundai could offer a more advanced Level 2+ ADAS suite with additional sensors and enhanced driver assistance systems.

Features like adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist and autonomous emergency braking are expected to continue, while more advanced capabilities may also be added.
