Skoda Cars India has just launched the new Kushaq Matte Edition in India. The brand stated that the new model will be limited to 500 units only and will sit in-between the Monte Carlo and Style variants.
The new Skoda Kushaq Matte Edition gets a new “Carbon Steel” exterior colour with a matte finish. The door handles and ORVMs get a gloss black trim while the front grille gets a chrome surround. The rest of the SUV remains similar to the other models.
Skoda will offer the Kushaq Matte Edition with both a 1.0-litre TSI and a 1.5-litre TSI petrol engine. The former makes 114 bhp with 178 Nm of peak torque while the latter pumps out 148 bhp with 250 Nm of max torque. Transmission choices include a 6-speed manual, a 6-speed automatic or a 7-speed DSG gearbox.
The new Kushaq Matte Edition is priced at a premium of Rs 40,000 above the Kushaq Style variant. Prices start from Rs 16.19 lakh (ex-showroom) for the 1.0 TSI Manual, going up to Rs 19.39 lakh (ex-showroom) for the top 1.5 TSI Automatic model.
The new Kushaq competes in arguably the most competitive segment in India, the compact SUV category. With new models launching every year, the special editions of the Kushaq makes sure the SUV’s line-up is fresh. Previously, the automaker had introduced the Monte Carlo edition which has proven to be very successful for the brand. The Kushaq rivals the likes of the Kia Seltos, Hyundai Creta, VW Taigun, Maruti Grand Vitara, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, and the Honda Elevate.
