The much-anticipated Tata Harrier EV will finally go on sale on June 3, 2025. Tata Motors had showcased the production-ready Harrier EV along with the Sierra ICE and Avinya X concept at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Global Expo. The electric SUV was also showcased to Tata dealers and select media at its production plant.
The Tata Harrier EV has already been spotted multiple times on the Indian roads. In fact, the SUV was recently caught testing without camouflage and reveals its design details. This electric SUV is based on Tata’s Acti.ev Gen 2 architecture, which also underpins the Curvv and Punch EVs. The spy images confirm that the SUV looks largely identical to the show model at the Auto Expo 2025. The Harrier EV looks largely identical to its ICE derivative; however, it has some EV-specific design elements. The SUV gets new blanked out front grille, revised front and rear bumpers, new aero-optimised wheels and others.
The Harrier EV will come with an all-wheel drive setup, which is also the only AWD offering the homegrown automaker in India. The company has not revealed the power and other details of the Harrier EV. We expect the new model to offer multiple battery options - a 60kWh and 75kWh. It is expected to offer a range of up to 500km in a single charge.
The Tata Harrier EV also gets multi-link rear suspension, which can be tuned more effectively to offer better ride quality. The existing Harrier Diesel comes with a torsion beam setup.
The Tata Harrier EV will come with more features than the diesel-powered version. It comes equipped with the ‘Summon’ mode, which allows the driver to move the electric SUV forwards and backwards using the key fob. The electric also comes with vehicle-to-load (V2L) feature.
Other features include a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment unit with wireless Android Auto & Apple CarPlay, a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, dual-zone climate control, panoramic sunroof and others. For safety and security, the new Harrier EV gets 7 airbags, a 360-degree surround view camera, hill hold assist, and tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS). It also gets LEVEL 2 ADAS with features like adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, lane assist, auto high beam and others.
The Tata Harrier EV is likely to be priced aggressively in the market. We expect the Harrier electric is estimated to be priced around Rs 24 lakh to Rs 30 lakh (ex-showroom). It will rival the likes of the Mahindra XEV 9e and BYD Atto 3.
